I have to say that I liked the episode, except for Jay and Gloria’s little crime spree; first stealing the birthday cake from the woman with a stroller and then leaving the parking garage without paying (and destroying the gate in the process). What was that about? It seemed uncharacteristic of them.
Perhaps uncharacteristic of Jay. Gloria has a more … colorful … personal history.
That and the quote mentioned in the OP were my favourites:
“We always knew there was a strong possibility she’d be a terrible driver.”
I kept waiting for them to open the box, and see the cake with something totally inappropriate written on it. That’s a really obvious standard joke. Or did I miss it?
I was confused by the cake stealing bit. Presumably, it would be decorated for whatever that mom wanted it for, and would be useful to to her? I’ve had success finding #35 and bribing them to pick up my cake, but that’s just me I guess.
I tuned in a few minutes late - was there any explanation why this bakery had a 20 person wait, and why they didn’t just have a “pick up your already ordered cake” line? I’d be pissed too if I had to wait behind people placing an order, when my cake was sitting right there.
Perhaps the line was for chocolate babkas?
