And if it’s a Prius, it doesn’t have a real key anyway, just a sort of Star Trek-ky doodad that you shove in the dashboard.

Best gag was Luke perfectly imitating the “dog” noise that Phil makes.

To his mom saying bullfrog.
“Scarlett gets really mad at Rhett… and… doesn’t he burn a farm or something?”
“…at Clark Gable…”
Did anyone else think that was an odd movie choice? It seemed like it was too easy for her to say “I don’t remember the end, I watched it like 15 years ago.”
I thought that it was a weird choice for a movie that four women had not seen, and not one of them knew the ending, even though it has one of the most famous lines in the history of movies.
I just want to go on the record that although everyone is always talking about how hot Gloria is, I think think Julie Bowen is just insanely good looking. She’s the Bailey Quarters of MF.
I do prefer Sofia Vergara, but Julie Bowen also is quite attractive!
I’m sorry, you can’t make me choose between the two!
That’s ironic because that was the storyline that seemed hackneyed and sitcommy to me. What sold it was the performances.
For some of us, Ty Burrell has them both beat.
I have a hunch that, when Manny actually peruses Playboy, he’s going to be pretty turned off - because the women remind him too much of his mother!!
I liked the Ice and Fire (or Hielo y Fuego) joke, about how they wouldn’t dare kill the main character. Them’s some nerdy writers!
I am not sure if the post above me was in reference to tonight’s episode (11/2/11) which just aired, but either way, I thought tonight’s show was a perfect example of how Modern Family has been lately, that is to say a consistently good Sit-Com, with witty one-liners and several mild laughs interspersed thru-out, but not quite as enjoyable as it seemed to me during the first season.
Maybe I am misremembering how funny Season One really was, maybe I am expecting more of what had become my favorite show, or maybe I am getting a bit tired of the level of hype that seems to have grown over Modern Family, or at least it’s main star, Sofia Vergara, who seems to be on every TV station I turn to.
I still enjoy Modern Family, but after all is said and done, I have decided that it’s just another Network Sit-Com, although still MUCH better than 98% of the other similar shows I have watched in the past few years…
I’m pretty sure quixotic’s post was in reference to the Telemundo soap that Jay was watching in last week’s episode. I actually thought last night’s episode (which I guess deserves its own thread) was pretty solid. A few laugh-out-loud moments.
