I’ll keep it short… I thought this was a great episode.

I thought it was a cute concept, but poorly executed.
The light-up dresses were hysterical. Reminds me of a co-worker who seemed really normal until she told us about her Disney-themed wedding. People apparently spend thousands of dollars so that they can propose in the Cinderella castle at DisneyWorld. Wow, is all I could say.

I laughed when Claire was trying to follow all her family’s pointers during the debate and ended up looking kind of insane.
Gloria trying to talk Stella down from the edge was pretty good, too.
I’m sorry, I didn’t notice anything after Gloria jumped in the pool. What was the episode about?
I just come in to these threads to officially go on record every week that I think Julie Bowen s a strikingly beautiful woman. I know everyone is supposed to be crazy for Gloria, but Clair is the Bailey Quarters of Modern Family.

Julie Bowen is a terrific actress – she does the “I’m about to snap, and go completely insane” look so well.
I loved the bit in the debate when it looked like Claire was maybe, possibly, about to pull it back to the issues, and then Phil stood up. You knew she was utterly doomed at that point.
I thought the final scene was going to be a reveal that Luke was the one who autotuned Phil & put it up on youtube.
Agreed, one of the better episodes this season:)
Fucking Gloria…
Gloria is one of the best characters on there, especially with that colombian accent.
I love the “Jay” family’s trials with adapting to (his pathological adoration of) Stella. I’m so glad she’s still a part of it and she didn’t just disappear after a couple of glimpses in an episode here and there.
Boy, watching this episode, my thoughts were that Julie Bowen has never appeared more ghoulish and weird, possibly the least attractive she has looked in any episode. She’s a good actor, but I think she look practically skeletal in the face.
I laughed my ass off throughout the whole episode - from Cam having to leave the room because he couldn’t stop laughing to Claire and her family grilling her on all her Mom-like tendencies to Claire and Phil’s performances at the debate. When Phil stood up and said, “Like many men in our town, I like to sleep with my wife…” I just about fell off the couch laughing! Then the auto-tuned viral video…
Not being a straight man or a lesbian I can’t really be the judge, but I’ve wondered if she would be just as ‘so damned sexy a gay man could make a baby with her’ if she had a much softer accent (like, for example, Salma Hayek when Salma’s softening her accent for a role). Thoughts?
I agree she didn’t look her best, and her mugging for the camera created some intentionally unattractive looks, but the rest of the time she is just drop dead good looking.
