So, what did you guys think of last night’s episode?
Favorite moment:
“Can I borrow this costume?”
“What for?”
“I’d rather not say.”
I thought Gloria giving Jay shit at the beginning of the episode was great.
“Too busy! What about the three hour nap you took Sunday?”
“I was tired.”
“From what, the two hour nap on Saturday?”
…
“I just bought a typewriter.”
“When’s your book signing, 1974?”
Yeah, that was great!
“Picture Tom Berenger.”
“I always do.”
Best line. I can still picture Gloria’s excellent delivery.
Heh-heh*
*Tom Berenger’s character from Eddie & the Cruisers was nicknamed WordMan by Eddie (Michael Pare, in a unforgetfully wooden portrayal of a proto-rock star).
I though the MF episode was meh. Sorry - just felt like I saw the gears moving a bit too much. Phil vs. a bully, Jay relying on Manny to “fool” a smarter Gloria, etc. As pointed out, some good lines.
Lily: Let me see that. <hands it back> I can’t read.
Jay: Your good looks aren’t going to last forever.
Gloria: You’ll be long gone by then.
“Why can’t you just pee straight?”
“Hey I do pretty good from way back there.”
I thought Lilly’s line at the beginning was funny when the Dad’s told her it might be a while before the tooth fairy got there and she said, “That’s okay. I got nowhere else to be.”
“And again with the glitter.”
Even though they played that to death in the commercials, it was still funny.
It was OK, they’ve set the bar for themselves pretty high. Haley turned out to be the smart one in this episode, every parent should understand the dynamic interaction between the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus.
As a father of 3 girls, I laughed way too hard at that. Glitter is definitely Satan’s dandruff, especially when it gets in the laundry.
“The Tooth Fairy doesn’t have to vacuum.”
mmm
As the father of 2 cats, both of whom can jump to any location on a Christmas tree, I share your pain.
