Modern Family - season 3, ep 23 - Tableau Vivant - May 16, 2012

Gloria: It’s like a fish and a turkey beat themselves to death with a pepper.

It sounded like a pretty terrible sandwich to me too.

Loved Mitch in the elevator, and everyone’s opinion of him . . . and the cake.

And “actual hogwash.”

Glad everyone showed up at the restaurant after all.

Gloria: Ay, my poor sisters!

And, by the way, that sandwich sounded terrible.

No wonder most people take it to go.

They named you after a sangdwich?

It actually sounds delicious though:

turkey
bacon
swiss cheese
red peppers
anchovies
on wheat

I’d prefer rye over wheat, and it needs some mustard, but I’d absolutely eat it. Actually, I’m going to make one this weekend.

I still love the show, but I’m getting a little weary about so many episodes having a lesson-and-hugs ending.

Just read that the actress that plays the older daughter, Haley, had a kidney transplant recently! Donated by her dad.

I loved the reveal when Cam’s hand was caught in the disposal and Claire wouldn’t say “No!” to Lily.

And how many times have you wondered what Manny did: “I always do the right thing and where’s my medal?”

That was Beth Grant as Maxine; she’s one of my favorite character actresses. Sordid Lives fans know her as Sissy.

Holy crap! Hope the transplant goes well.

I don’t like wheat bread, and have never tried anchovies, but the rest sounds good. Maybe throw it on sourdough with roast beef replacing the anchovies. That’d be sweet.

Hold the Anchovies and add brown mustard and sign me up.

snaps fingers

A-HA! I knew she looked familiar.

But if you leave out the anchovies, it becomes a Jack Feldman!

I agree! The sandwich sounded disgusting to me, as well.

I loved Mitch’s elevator scene. Hilarious! What a lazy bum…

Just so long as it doesn’t turn into a Barry Mannilow.

Never. I misbehave and get medals.

I see a little bit of myself when I was 10 in Luke.

Was I the only one who thought the living painting was a horrible school assignment idea? I suppose maybe everyone in Alex’s class also has a rich granddad who is bankrolling the family but it seems a like a very expensive project to impose on kids.

My understanding is that it’s a fancy school.

TV in general seems to overestimate the sort of projects that get assigned in school.

Discovering Luketonium is cheap and easy though.
