Modern Family 11/7/2012

“Help! Help! This boy is having a life-threatening allergic reaction!”

“Oh my God, what happened?”

“Someone gave him some soy bacon that was so delicious he couldn’t stop eating it.”

“What is this, a Solar System?”

“They’re molecules.”

“No, they’re nerdy balls.”

Mitchell’s reaction to Haley’s room was priceless. Wanting to clean it up when the hearing was just around the corner and then having to wait in the hall to be away from the mess.

Loved how Dad let Haley have it and then Claire said, “We’re going to get waffles.”

Manny carrying on a correspondence with DeeDee was so Manny.

The last hang up by Cam over Claire saying he was a bad baker.

Loved the bit about the soy bacon.
“It’s faux-con disgusting.”

I love the little moments in this show, like this one:
Phil: Where are my keys?
Haley: Right there, on the makeup table.
Claire: Oh, honey. That’s a desk.

And it was a new thing to see Phil in a serious moment, when he was yelling at Haley.

“I’m taking this man to get some waffles!”

Another hilarious episode. Wife and I had to pause the DVR because we were laughing so hard. The best moment was the soy bacon. “It’s fakin. Actually I make my own so it’s faux fakin…it’s faux-con.”

“It was bound to happen sooner or later.”

This was my favorite episode of the season, so far! Absolutely hilarious!

One of the best episodes.

Really liked this episode but did anyone else think that Ty Burrell was about to keel over from the flu? He looked like death warmed over. It felt like the “Phil is super hungry” story line only got shoved in to help explain how rough he looked.

My favorite scene was when Mitchell was trying to tell the difference between the soy and real bacon.

“That one.”

“That one.”

"That one again. "

Another vote for best episode this season.

Yup. He looked like that in the last episode too, when he was trapped under the motorcycle. Especially when his hair flips forward.
From the right (wrong) angle, he looks like a totally different, and much older person.

Last week I thought it was just something about the odd angle that he was supposed to be filming himself at with his phone, but I noticed it this week too.

Anyone else recently read that the young actress who plays Alex (14 year-old Ariel Winter) is supposedly being physically abused and financially manipulated by her mom, who sounds like another Stage Mother from Hell?

I guess the family is an acting family (her older sister and brother are also both professional actors) and the mom supposedly did the same thing to them, so Ariel’s sister, who is now in her thirties, has been appointed temporary guardian by the court, so their mom can’t get her grubby mitts on any more of Ariel’s Modern Family money.

Pretty sad, but it sounds like the older sister isn’t going to let their mother screw over Ariel the way she allegedly screwed her back when she was younger and was the one raking in the dough.

Another little thing that made me laugh- Jay’s ringtone for DeeDee was some ominous-sounding bit of music, like a funeral march.

Excellent episode, but I can’t believe they aren’t going to have another scene with Phil and Haley’s roommate- that is just leaving a good interaction hanging again. Even having the dean recognize Phil or a security guard be required to accompany Phil to the room would have been amusing.

Above the makeout table there was a large poster of a couple in bed together, was that Haley and Dylan? There was never a clear shot of the poster but it certainly looked like Haley.

Makeup table.

The article I read said that the older sister had herself been taken out of that house by the courts and never returned. Sad.

Honey, that’s a desk.
