Last night was the first Modern Family episode I’ve seen of the new season, and I couldn’t help but notice the funny way Luke was talking. Sort of lisping, sort of slurring his words, like he’d just shown up after a visit to the dentist. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this just another thing I’ll have to get used to with the kids growing up?
I noticed some puberty cracking, but nothing out of the ordinary for a boy his age.
I noticed the same thing, like he was having difficulty talking.
Wasn’t it because of his recent visit to the dentist? Why else would they put that in the script?
I’ve always found him somewhat difficult to understand, and now that his voice is getting deeper it seems to exacerbate the problem.
Last season he clearly hit puberty and his voice got lower and ‘less funny’. I noticed this season that he seemed to be trying to make it more childish, at least when he was being funny (which is most of the time).
Was there actually something in the show where they mentioned him being at the dentist? If so, I missed that, but that would explain it. (Funny that I would use that analogy in my OP - that was purely coincidence!)
