Unfortunately, the only mod to respond nonflippantly utterly failed to get the point anyway, and has not replied further. Ah well, that was probably inevitable too.
It seems we all just have to disagree on whether or not december is a deliberate, habitual baiter (if he is, the rest follows). That means some of you are able to think his wave of Muslim-bashing posts, for simply one example, are honestly meant to initiate reasoned discussions, and I simply don’t understand how you can think that. It’s a big world, though.

Sorry, but I did address the OP. I just didn’t read it in the way you now say you intended it; I read it literally. So, yeah, I did get your point; you just failed to effectively communicate exactly what your point was. And after re-reading th OP twice, I see no indication that anything more than a literal interpretation is possible. If you have a question about enforcement standards, why obscure it with repeated references to a single poster? Why not simply state it clearly? We can perhaps then address your actual concerns without the emotional baggage you’ve attached to the OP; you’ve already seen the results of doing that.
Anyway, I’ve not seen december do anything I’ve not seen a number of other current posters have done in the past, or do now. I’ll admit I haven’t spent much time in GD in the past couple months though, so I’m not the best judge, though. Apparently december’s specific OP’s aren’t really the issue you wish addressed anyway, but given nothing more than that initial post to go on, I’m at a loss to determine exactly what your gripe is.

I am also at a loss to find a way to explain it to you any more clearly than I already have (hint: I have more than one post in this thread). Your own admitted lack of time in GD makes it even more difficult to discuss with you what GD is.

Yeah, given the OP. As I said, I read it literally. There was no indication that it was meant to be read any other way. But perhaps as you say, it’s better I don’t address this issue. One, I’ve not been too active in GD recently; and two, the mods over there have jurisdiction anyway. If I may respectfully make another suggestion, you might consider discussing this with them directly through e-mail since they seem reluctant to post here. You’ll likely have better luck getting their attention.
I’m aware this is the proper forum for discussion of these topics, but again, given the lack of response, e-mail is another option. I’m sure they’d be happy to take time to respond to you had this not appeared to be a “witch hunt.” I know that’s not how you intended it, or at least now I do, but that’s how it initially appeared.

I’ve tried and I have tried and tried again to reason with this guy. Due to the tone that he maintains I thought for long that the majority of his contributions to the threads had a value in as much that I hoped that debate with him would lead somewhere.
However, in his most recent arguments re Reuters I can only say that I retract any opinion in that direction. The man is a troll. An awful bigoted piece of vehement shit troll if you ask me, who refuses to argue on any respectable level. I couldn’t care less about his opinions. I know several members by now that share some of them. I am for instance more than willing to debate DSeid on the issue of Israelis vs. Palestinians, because it leads to an informed and balanced exchange – even if I beg to differ re DSeid’s stand.
Debating with dipshit ‘last month of the year’ on the other hand just leads to complete and utter outrage. He never fucking furnishes an argument. He trolls and then he trolls some more and then he repeats it all over, and gets away with it. No one of in the administration makes even the slightest show of reaction. I think it is just easier for me to see with Stoid because I tend more to december’s ideology. But the board needs people around who can get the party started.
God forbid that the administrators start banning people who have not broken the rules - and in my view, he has not. I have been on boards where people get banned for starting discussions by questioning the prevailing attitudes. They aren’t very interesting, and they aren’t any fun.
If the SDMB turns into another one of those places where the prevailing ethos is copied from a ‘struggle session’ at the height of the Cultural Revolution, I will find other places to annoy and be annoyed by those who are too dispicably dim-witted to see the self-evident truth of every word I say.

december gets on my last nerve. He has an obsession with black people that borders on the unhealthy. As has been said before, debating with him without getting frustrated is close to impossible.
But I don’t agree with banning him from the site. We don’t have to shell out any bucks to enjoy the services of the SDMB, so if suffering through december’s posts is the only price of being here, so be it.

I’m curious why this was brought up publicly. I thought if we had trouble with another poster we were to email two mods/admin people and report it that way. Also we were supposed to be specific. With the new board the ‘report this post to a moderator’ also serves that purpose.
I haven’t been here that long, certainly not as long as most of the other posters in this thread, but if you don’t have people like december and stoid you’re going to have a very unexciting message board, IMHO.

Why public? Well for starters I think it’s fair that the someone in question should get a chance to defend himself. Further I’ll be honest and say that even in the light of my questioning that mr D hasn’t been banned I’m on the fence regarding if he really should be and for instance you just pointed out that maybe there is value in having him and his ilk around, which I needed to hear someone say.
This thread was opened as a question to the mods. They have already said that they will not reply. I understand and respect that. Actually I would surmise that anyone posting here making that request makes it all the more likely that they will not ban him as it would look like coercion if they now did.
Why am I so extremely outraged at D? Well, beyond the facts that I have listed above I’m European and he just will not stop sending bigoted slurs in my direction. I am deeply offended by his unfounded opinion re me and the rest of the people that happen to be citizens of the EU or inhabitants of this continent. I’m equally offended on behalf of people of Muslim creed. I suspect he thinks that my blowing my top at him has to do with me being anti-Israel and hence anti-Semite. I have repeatedly tried to hammer through the point that I am not. His thickheaded idiocy and paranoid delusions seem to inhibit him reading those lines every time I post them and he just replies with another set of arguments that imply that I have no base to stand on and that I am in fact what he says. I think december should be kept around if anything because he represents the ignorance that we’re supposed to be fighting. He makes a perfect poster child for this site. And I think the more we chip away at him, the more likely he is to change a little. Maybe when he drives around in Newark, he’ll see a black chick and think maybe that’s me–a strong, independent, competent if not intelligent woman–rather than a welfare queen, crackhead, or gangbanger. Maybe when he’s at a party and gets ready to jump into one of his anti-European or anti-liberal screeds, he’ll think of Sparc or tomndebb. I don’t think the guy is as unmalleable as we may think he is.
