I regret having pissed you off. monstro, You may be put off by my anti-PC approach. I do not set out to offend minorities, but I am happy to shake up someone of any background who is wedded to the idea that political correctness = non-prejudice.

December, don’t be daft. No one lost any debate to you, I doubt that this could have happened ever in your life actually, at least not here in the Pit or in GD. The fact is that what frustrates at least me and some others about you to the point of not standing you anymore is that no matter how many times you are proven wrong you’re nonplused and just completely ignore the fact that you have been overrun with counter arguments and go on debating. Even worse is that you’re having an altogether other debate than the one you pretend to have with us. For instance; you post an OP that is about tolerance of intolerance, and then you insert what you believe to be justified reasons to not tolerate Muslims. Which is fault number 1 since that wasn’t what you said we were going to talk about. When someone counter argues you anyway you turn around and accuse them of being anti-Israel. Which is fault number two since not agreeing with december’s view on Muslims is NOT the same as being anti-Israel. Red herring follows red herring, which ends with non sequitor.
You’re impossible to debate with, that’s what can drive anyone nuts about you, even people that agree with some of your opinions distance themselves from you because of it. You see the points you make or the opinions you hold might be worthwhile to debate or discuss, but you don’t give us a chance because of your asinine debating style.

I hate to agree with december but his last post is both witty and summarises the situation perfectly.
I think that sparc and elvis need to get realise something: you cannot have the last word around here. Physically it is not possible. Your opponent can (thread closure excepted) always respond, no matter how worthlessly, no matter how invalid their position has been shown to be.
So IMHO you have to simply decide for yourself if you have answered the OP or your debating opponent’s last post satisfactorily, and if you have, leave it. There are some people who aren’t going to accept that they may be wrong no matter what you say. In the end you can only have faith that the greater SDMB community will see that your opponent’s “last word” is just a worthless restatement of a thoroughly discredited position.
It’s annoying at times, but there you are.
As to december being a troll, as I understand it the difference between an ignorant fuckwit and a troll is that the former asks offensive dumbass questions because they hold offensive dumbass opinions, and the latter because they don’t hold such opinions, but they know that pretending to do so will provide the “bait” that will catch “fish”.
At least from what I have seen, december fits the former, not the latter. I haven’t seen any real signs that he does not believe what he says.
And finally, as I understand it, the primary rules is “don’t be a jerk”. Is december a jerk? Perhaps. Is constantly calling for “mommy” because other people don’t play nicely being a jerk? Perhaps.
Hmmm. I seem to have lost my sense of humor on this one completely, which is both a bad sign and unusual for me. I guess the old chap managed to press my ‘launch-self-defense-in-face-of-someone-who-expresses-hatred towards-you’ button. Therefore I shall stop this now.
Before I do I’ll clarify three things.
First of all I have in another thread apologized for the troll calling and stated that I will leave those judgments to others better suited. Since I did make the accusation in here first I guess it is nothing other than correct to reiterate it here as well.
Second of all I should clarify where that accusation came from. In my blind anger I seemed to perceive a repetitive pattern of december purely and only baiting for discussions along the line ‘admit that Arabs, Palestinians and Europeans all hate Israel, want the destruction of the same and are hence anti-Semite’. I have understood that this is not trolling by the prevailing consensus on the meaning of the word. Therefore I am not only retracting my accusation based on the bad taste it was in, but also on the ground that I was obviously wrong.
Third of all I was not calling for his being banned, I was questioning why he wasn’t, as I have stated earlier. I have been well answered, and I am grateful for the effort and time that others put into making me see clearer.
