Lsura, what time are you coming in on Sat, the 21st? If early in the day, I think that would be the best day for the Dopefest, as we could go see the fireworks afterwards and then retire to a very nice bar I know in the Village, which is at the foot of the J-C Bridge. (And eunoia, it’s mixed.)
I expect to be unavailable between Wed the 25th and Fri the 27th, unfortunately.

Yeah. So, I was waiting for a Mtl Dopefest all this time, and now I find out it’s gonna happen BEFORE I get back from Korea.
Life sucks.
Okay! It’s starting to look good! I have an offer of lodging now, and if Cerowyn is driving, I just might be all set. Only a few problems now come to mind.
I start summer school soon, which means that I’d only be able to make it for the weekend. That is, Friday evening through Sunday evening. Still, sounds like a helluva couple of days to me! With that timing, (If Ceroywn plans to go on the same schedule as Lsura) it means he could drive me down and I could take a train back, or something. which I think is entirely possible.
Second, I have this thing about my name. Noone on the internet knows it, and I like it that way. 
Which means you’d all have to call me Mnem, even in real life, and none of you would get to know the real name. I hope this won’t bother anyone. detop especially; if you dont think you’d like having someone staying with you whose name you don’t know, let me know now and I’ll look for alternatives. It’s weird, I know, but it’s a thing with me.
And I have a job, damnit. I sell knives. I just have a lot of debt on top of it, and not a lot of paycheck. So there.
And I’d love to come visit you, other Mnem. Though I know it’d give me a headache, and you’d get to watch me laugh myself silly at there being two of us.
So, if all the above works out, it looks like Montreal might get to meet me. Look out, Montreal!

Is there a final consensus of when this Dopefest is gonna go down? My schedule is getting pretty crammed.
ummm…no, there’s not. (sorry, I’ve avoided this thread too, because brain vacations cannot occur at work right now).
That Saturday, our flight in is fairly early(2pm or so?). Currently we plan to get settled into the hotel. Fireworks that evening, of course. With the time mom will have to get up to get to the Atlanta airport(she has to leave her house by 4:30AM at the latest), that may not be the best night to deal with many people.
Is that Sunday possible?
Oh, and I still have to manage to explain to mom that I have to meet these people from this computer message board while I’m there. She’ll roll her eyes at me or something.

If I may offer a suggestion,
We should meet for the fireworks (sorry Lsura, but there’s no way that your mother won’t be in a crowd at this event), introduce ourselves (being on our best behaviour of course) and watch the fireworks. Afterwards, after Lsura’s mom has established that we’re nice cultists/serial killers/dopefiends/whatnots, we can decide what occur next, or not.
In other words, let’s play it by ear.

That’s an excellent idea, Detop, especially considering that you guys will be watching the fireworks anyway.
Here’s what I propose: that I be inside the entrance to Papineau metro (green line, corner of Cartier and Sainte-Catherine) at 9:30 p.m. with some kind of a sign. (Something like CECIL RULES! so as not to arouse the suspicions of the local constabulary with a big sign about dope.) We cluster together and then walk up the bridge to watch the fireworks. Then we decide what to do after that.
Sound like a plan?

P.S., my roommate suggested that the Sunday Dopefest be held at the Tam-Tams on the mountain. What do you think ?
