Moon Knight - Disney Plus show

What’s in the box? What’s in the box?

Well per Steven that poster was not all that authoritative!

So how’s this?

It though tautological. She is on the council, the Ennead, because within this version she is one of the Ennead.

Taweret, historically a household deity without a cult or temple but widely worshipped, was not of that group.

FWIW, and I defer to those who know more, I think Hathor along the parallel of Hera - part of the divine royal group, and Taweret is a more of a folk god. Reflected in the way they were worshipped, as part of top down temples and cults, vs spread out in homes less used as tools by central command structures.

try taserface!

It’s been decades since I was studying the Egyptian religion, but that is a good overview. (Totally off-topic, but the Moses story becomes more interesting when you realize it’s a home deity attempting to join the royal pantheon with a temple and official cult. Compare also to Aten’s rise and fall.)

It’s a near certainly that Khonshu will be released in time for The Big Showdown. After all, it would be exceedingly weird for a show called “Moon Knight” to not actually have Moon Knight ever show up after the third episode.

That makes sense.
Unless a member of the British aristocracy shows up and Stephen promptly turns his back and exposes his bottom … Moon Knight!

I don’t know exactly why but I am bouncing off this show so far. I just don’t find it engaging.

Fer sure. But they in fact did have the duo (trio? quartet?) go in to the tomb against Harrow and minions without powers. Yes Harrow and minions were a bit busy being sliced into jars …

And, apparently with Taweret helping, and maybe alter v3, they will escape from the tomb unpowered.

Final showdown against Alexander The Great powered by Ammit assisted by Harrow will include the Quartet powered by Khonshu. Five on three! Good odds!

“So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu”

Since Bushman is also a somewhat pejorative term for an ethnic/cultural group in South Africa, it makes a rather cringey name for a villain nowadays, like calling a villain Chinaman or Injun. Nope.

A scene I want to see is one where Marc steals a car, but is having trouble driving it because it’s configured for left side traffic, so he switches to Steven because, being British, he has all the right muscle memory for that.

I could see that. I’m sticking with it because, really, it’s just six episodes. But it has what I call the Gabby problem. What I used to dislike about Xena was that many plots relied on Gabby getting them involved in some deadly or complicated situation, then relying completely on Xena to get them out.

That’s what keeps happening with Steven: he gets to be a nice guy letting murderers go, and when they turn on them, he switches out and lets Marc deal with it. That gets annoying pretty quick, and I wouldn’t watch a full 24 episode season of such antics.

They were able to rework Man-Ape, but there’s no way to redo Bushman without the terrible name. Not missing it. What group in SA, by the way?

If they want to use the character, they could very easily just change his name to Raoul Bush. IIRC the MCU has done things like that before.

Blue Moon Knight vs. Raoul Busch! Battle of the Beers!

Generally, the San peoples - various Khoe, Tuu, or Kxʼa-speaking indigenous hunter-gatherer cultures.

The fact that there were multiple hippo goddesses and Ammit was one explains the screams of terror that had me confused.

Watched third episode, where it all comes clear.

“The One who possesses the Stick of Stickness must be stopped!”
“Please, tell me how!”
“I will tell you in a low, whispery voice that you cannot understand!”
“Is it okay if I turn on the subtitles?”
“Do you not trust me?”
“Well then, what must I do?”
“You must seek the stolen sarcophagus!”
“Okay, where is it?”
“You must find it on your own!”
“Can’t you just tell me where it is?”
“No, but don’t worry, you will find it two scenes from now, and solve the clue soon after’!”
“Then will I know what to do?”
“You will have to watch the next episode to find out!”
“Right. Never mind.”

The last episode has got a LOT of loose ends to tie off. I wonder if they’re leaving it on a cliffhanger.

I’m not sure, but wasn’t this billed as a miniseries? So I thought this was going to tell a closed arc. I agree there’s a lot left to resolve, though…
