It isn’t radical Islam that succeeds often in getting my friends and family treated like second class citizens. I don’t have any scars from meeting radical Islam on the streets.
Seriously? More than the Cold War? More than Vietnam? Korea? The fall of the Soviet Union? The birth control pill? Landing on the moon? The personal computer? The internet?
For such a plan to be successfull requires a level of laxed security and outright stupidity that our military hopefully will never reach.
I wasn’t thinking “inventions”, which, I agree, have changed things much more. I broadly drew a timeline to start after the Korean War. But I think you may be right about Vietnam. The Cold War I don’t see as really effecting day-to-day life more than 9/11. Not even close.

Yes, you did. My point is that I believe you and wouldn’t blame you for fearing them or pitting them. But in my life, your “RRR” has had virtually on effect on me. 9/11 has indeed had an effect. Would you go as far as to say that 9/11 has had no effect on your life? A small one? A significant one? A big one?
Of course they haven’t affected you.

Thanks for your permission to pit the radical, racist right, by the way. I am slightly more important things to do, and believe there are slightly more effective ways of dealing with them and their co-travellers.
But the bottom line is, you didn’t rant against the perpetrators of 9/11, or their supporters. You didn’t even rant against Radical Islam. You ranted against Muslims. Despite the fact that the Muslim government is investigating it, and the Muslim commentators on the news story ranted about it. To you, all Islam is guilty of the crimes of the perpetrators of this. The same logic would lead me to blame all white males for the skinheads I have fought. Which would make me pretty self loathing in the end.

And my OP calls Islam on the carpet for the instances cited and others. In a world where logic is known, that does not men that ALL Muslims engage in such barbarism. Nor doe it mean that Islam may have very good aspects, as well. It simply call Islam on the carpet for the propensity for it to be expressed in the most backward barbaric ways.
