The OP states that the rape and beating of the teen is the “feel for Islam.” But the country where it happened is an Islamic country and that country’s actual government has ruled that “Fatwa is illegal.” Also, to know if the locals based their decision on actual Islamic jurisprudence, one would have to know exactly what those who issued that fatwa stated and what hadith they used. I suspect, though, that this is more of the same old same old in a poor and mostly illiterate area of the country: someone of prestige or wealth does something heinous to somone poor or lacking in prestige and then bribes some local leaders to get a ruling against their victim. I’m sayint that because I don’t recall seeing what kind of punishment hte local so-called council meted out to the rapist.
And since the OP himself said that the raping and killing of the teen girl is the “feel for Islam,” perhaps he could point out where in Islamic scripture or hadith such actions are ordered? And by hadith, I mean actual schools of hadith, recognized as valid by those specializing in such, not by some local bribe-taker.
Can we safe assume that you also despise Christianity for “the barbarism” it has spawned.

The psycho extremists killed a few thousand people. The RRR used that as an excuse to undermine fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as embroil us in a series of conflicts that have killed thousands of people in our armed forces, plus others from allied countries, and resulted in six-figure death tolls for non-American civilians (but they’re brown, so it’s okay).

What does Islam have to be proud of? Christians, Catholics and all kinds of religions do charity work. What kind of charity work does Islam conduct? The US and all kinds of countries help out when there are natural disasters the world over. Egypt came to the assistance when there was a forest fire in Israel, as did many different countries, that offered their help. Tell me about the positive Islamic works that Muslims do the world over? I am all ears. I want to hear about all the good works that Islam does for people other than for themselves. You know, good old fashioned, roll up the sleeves charity work in say Haiti, or South America. Tell me how Islam helped get the Chilean miners out of their prison? Tell me all about the shelters for battered women that Islam offers. Tell me about all the positive and good works that Islam offers. I’d love to hear about all the positive actions that we have to thank Islam for.

Given that Islam does not have much in the way of an organized church hierarchy, seems to me it would be inherently somewhat more difficult to organize large, multicountry charitable efforts than for some other religions. Nevertheless, there seem to be numerous quite large charitable organizations that have muslim ties. Are you claiming that you have never heard of Red Crescent, for example?

IIRC, the resolution putting this now sad state of affairs all into law and in motion passed the senate unanimously with less than a handful of dissenters in the house.

B.S. Churches of all kinds and sizes have charitable causes of all kinds and sizes. Not just churches and religions that are superhuge. Charity is one of the best things that organized religion does well. Feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, clothing the naked and taking care of the sick. Islam is an angry organization of self-congratulatory individuals who try their best to instill fear and degradation to any people who oppose their tactics of terrorism and hatred for people with different beliefs. A religion of peace? You’ve got to be joking.
So far as this board is concerned, it has all the makings of a group of people who, like incestuousness, brings about a community of people who cannot be circumspect in any meaning of the word.
