Well, I don’t think anyone can in good conscience award such a score, given that you are basically supporting your argument by coming out in support of a person who has repeatedly called for genocide of all muslims. Sorry.
Well I dunno, Stakers. The new kid has a lot of verve, a lot of snap, the ol’ razzle-dazzle. Willing to go where you’re not, willing to take his crazy to the next level. He’s ready to wipe out about a sixth of humanity, and you’re just maundering along about liberal permisiveness and hypocrisy.
Plus, he is more open to information. He’s willing to use a comment on Newsbusters as a cite, and you won’t go there. Of course, you pretty much avoid cites to begin with, preferring to rely on your status as the World’s Foremost Authority. Which is cool by me, understand, they are about equal in terms of validity.
Ah, but he did make a recommendation to increase the GST in Calgary from 5 to 6%. Nothing nice about that and kind of casts doubts as to his intelligence and competence raising such a suggestion in here in Calgary.
Ah, yes, the “I Know A Non-Violent Muslim Fallacy”. You’ll make a good dhimmi, really you will. Moron.
Wow, I’m dazzled by your brilliant, penetrating logic. Not.
But then that’s what makes liberals so damned funny, and so damned fun to argue with. They just have no grasp of reality. They arbitrarily decide on strange beliefs for no discernible reason whatsoever. They are totally oblivious to reality and immune to logic. And best of all, they have a masturbatory obsession with their own experience and believe that their tiny perception of the world is the big picture. Totally infantilized narcissists.
Of course, their debating skills are nil, and they don’t have the common sense most lower animals were born with, but hey, you can’t have everything, right?
On the other hand, if there’s one thing we know about Starvy it’s that he can go the distance. Again, and again, and again. Then he’ll start over from the top. He’s never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down.
For all we know the new kid is gonna get his ass banned in a week.
Now, as a side note and for my personnal enlightenment: who the fuck is Anderson F. Cooper, and why does he twist Cro-Magnon’s panties so hard ?
You seem to be under the impression that either the OP (me) or some one else in the thread is of the opinion that ALL Muslims are murderous barbaric terrorists or that the religion REQUIRES all Muslims to kill non-Muslims.
You’ll have to point me to the seed from where these straw men sprouted in your mind.
This raises an interesting issue. Coulter is a very popular author. Her books repeatedly make it to the top ten, if not the number one spot, yet what she writes is not allowed on The Dope? Is that right?
I am not a mod, but I expect that were she a Doper, Coulter’s comment would not be permissible. As for referring to it, there is an obvious (to most) difference between quoting her for the purpose of discussing or condemning her sentiment, and quoting her simply in order to say “right on!”
It’s not okay, but it’s worth pointing out I am a Christian (and not a particularly liberal one, either), and if anything, that makes me more appreciate of Muslims. Of course, I think this is my first post in this thread, though I did take on our genocidal new guest in another thread.
IOW, if there’s hypocrisy, it belongs in a different conversation. Not wanting to kill Muslims isn’t really a “liberal” project, it’s more of a “human decency” project.
Well, I commend you for your honesty and admitting that. I fear that you are completely correct. If it makes the liberals around here feel comfortable, it’s fine. If they find it objectionable, it’s not.
The sparkling wit, that’s what I think. Some say its the encyclopedic grasp of stuff that just ain’t so, but I think its the Wildean wit. I mean, look at that! Snap!
Um… yes. I also don’t want Christians, Sikhs, Jews, Jains, Hindus, Buddhists, Shintos, Caodaists, Tenrikyists, or anyone else to kill others, and putting Muslims under a veil of suspicion isn’t really helpful in bridging the divides that encourage people to kill each other. Not to mention that one of the people posting here has advocated killing or forcefully converting all Muslims.
Not really. One is a discussion of the statement itself, the other is an attempt to bypass the board rules. It’s the difference between saying, in a CS thread, “one of the all-time best movie endings is The Front, where Woody Allen says 'And furthermore, you can all go fuck yourselves,” and me saying (in a thread like this one), “magellan01, to paraphrase Woody Allen in The Front, you can go fuck yourself.” See the difference?
Here’s the things, killing people is associated with one of those way more than the others. So, any serious attempt or desire to want to end it would have to hold Islam under a light. Or should we spend half our resources looking at Muslims and half looking at Quakers. Make sense?
