It seems like today is the day of big video game release date news as WB Games just announced that Mortal Kombat will be released on April 19. They’re taking it back to 2D and everything I’ve seen so far looks awesome!
Is anyone else excited? Or is this just more proof I’m stuck in 1996 when it comes to gaming?

Hardy har har. But Midway (under their new name NetherRealm Studios) has been working on a new Mortal Kombat sequel since MK vs DC Universe was released in 2008. Now it’s got a release date of April 19.
I know, it’s not Halo so you don’t care, but I’m hoping somebody does.
I care. I love Mortal Kombat and it’s almost the only fighting game I even play anymore. Haven’t been too interested in the “3D” versions of the game (though completely owning everyone in sight with Shujinko is fun) but if they’re going back to 2D, I’m excited.

I never got the DC and Mortal Kombat crossover, though.
I’m excited. I never got into the 3D ones even though I bought the first 3D one. However I just looked it up and I will not be buying it since I don’t have a PS3 or Xbox 360. Lame.
I liked Deception and Armageddon. Switching between the fighting styles was fun.
My main beef with the series has been how silly and PG-13 it’s been since MK2.
