Movie ID: 80's, Roland (or Orlando), teleportations, possible dwarf.

Asking for a friend–He says he saw it on cable TV a couple of times in the 80’s.

It wasn’t a blockbuster, probably it would rate as a B movie. I believe it was a semi-fantasy revolving around the story of Roland. I can’t remember for sure if he was called Roland, or Orlando in the movie, nor can I remember the name of his romantic interest (whether it was Aude or someone else).

I remember a few cheesy teleportations, a bit of nudity, and perhaps a dwarf who was also a sorcerer (possibly the villain?).

I told him I’d ask here because the Dope knows all.

Could the hero have been named Colwin? And does he remember if it prominently featured a magical knife-edged star-shaped weapon?

Yeah Krull was the first thing that came to mind for me too, but the details don’t quite fit.

Hearts and Armour perhaps? Definitely had Orlando and nudity (Tanya Roberts in her prime!). I don’t remember teleportation or dwarves. But, then, it’s been years since I saw it.

Maybe it’sOrlando(which is 1992, but that’s not too far off). It doesn’t have teleportation, but it does skip through the centuries. There is a bit of nudity. I don’t remember a dwarf, but it’s certainly possible.

For a dwarf-wizard and teleportations, you may be thinking of Sword of the Valiant with Miles O’Keefe as Sir Gawaine and Sean Connery as the Green Knight. No Orlando or nudity (dammit) in that one, though.
