Movies where Tom Cruise is killed?

I was thinking about wether Valkyrie was worth seeing, and remembered that the real Stauffenburg was hung/strangled with piano wire, IIRC. And I thought seeing Tom Cruise strangled would be worth the price of admission.

So, do they show his death in the movie, and are there any other Cruise movies that kill him off? :stuck_out_tongue:

I would cut off both my arms to see An American Crime remade with Tom Cruise in the lead.

First: to the best of my recollection,

nope. It’s a staged execution by gunfire and they cut away at the gunshot.

Secondly: there’s a handful–Vanilla Sky, Taps,* Collateral*, Interview with the Vampire if you count being undead.

Assume open spoilers are OK here.

He dies in Last Samurai

Wrong von Stauffenberg. Claus von Stauffenberg was executed by firing squad after a summary court marital just as in the film. His older brother, Berthold von Stauffenberg, was the one hung with piano wire. He didn’t have as big a role as his brother and wasn’t in the film at all.

No he doesn’t.

Holy crap, your right. Had a vivid memory of him going down with the other samuari, but checked wikipeida and apparently I’m full of it. Sorry.

You should be! You almost made me watch a Tom Cruise movie!
Actually, I already saw it. :stuck_out_tongue:

He dies in Collateral

What would you do to see him play Bill Connor?

Not enough, not nearly enough.

When’s he gonna climb Mt Everest? Maybe we can get some real live IMAX footage of him shuffling off this mortal coil.

I want to see him locked in a closet. Oh wait…

I don’t think they cut away, I’m pretty sure you see the whole thing.

Tom Cruise does not die in Vanilla Sky.

I think Tommy dies in Youngs Guns II in an uncredited role as a jailed cattle rustler (he has a moustache on as well, so he’s kinda hard to spot), but I can’t recall for sure.

He dies in Taps.

He also dies in Taps.

Did he die in “Taps”?

I think he died in “Taps.”
