Movies you watch(ed) when high.?

Since that last thread had legs, I thought it might be interesting to talk about movies you could watch under the influence.

2001 A Space Odyssey is, of course, mandatory viewing.

The Wall.

Me and these Titles; My primary screen is set at 2k because my drawing tablet is plugged in, but the screen isn’t meant for 2k, so it’s tough to see…

anyway, how do I get ahold of a moderator to fix it?

I reported it for you.

I really appreciate it.

Thank you.

Same thing I said in the other thread, Pink Floyd’s Pulse concert. Hell, I still watch it from time to time on youtube.

It depends what you are looking for…

-Into The Spider-Verse has great animation and music.
-Stop Making Sense for the music.
-Stuff by Ron Fricke (Koyaanisqatsi, Baraka and Samsara). The guy has an incredible vision for capturing things on film.

I watch everything high, but I’ll go with:

2001 a Space Odyssey
The Wall

Various Cheech and Chong movies when I was a teenager.

Apocalyse Now is a biggie.

Generally though I find being a boring old fart now has completely changed my opinion on the really surreal stuff I used to watch as a stoned teenager. Apocalyse Now has held up well (though isn’t in the top 5 all time greats for me any more), but the more surreal stuff like David Lynch or, god forbid, Jodorowsky I have super low opinion of now. Sorry 19-year-old me, films that are just being surreal and weird, with no actual compelling plot or characters speak of, so you pretty much have to be stoned to appreciate them, are just bad films.

This response is to the original op title “movies you what(ed) when high”.

I had just gotten contact lenses after wearing glasses most of my life when I went to see “Blade Runner”. I had already seen it a few times and this was a re-release to theaters. My friend and I got really high on the way to the movie. After the movie, I told my friend that it seemed way more dark than I remembered. He pointed out that I was still wearing my sunglasses.

My response for the op title when it gets changed to “watched” is definitely “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”.

Fixed. And moved to the Cafe (from GD).

Human Highway starring Neil Young and Devo.
Yellow Submarine
Brain Damage
The Wall (Also Pink Floyd in Pompei sp?)
Easy Rider

The Wall & Floyd in Pompeii
Disney’s Fantasia & Alice in Wonderland
Yellow Submarine
Holy Grail
Wizards
Heavy Metal (terrible VHS of it)
The Song Remains the Same

Lots of midnight movies from the rental place.

The two I came in to mention.

I also liked This is Spinal Tap (funny) and Eraserhead (general weirdness).

Great picks!

Dune is a good one. It even starts to kind of make sense!
Half Baked
Beetlejuice
Delicatessen
Friday
Dredd
Trainspotting
A Scanner Darkly
Pineapple Express

For the psychedelic minded:
Paprika

Enter the Void

Chemical Brothers: Don’t Think
