OMG! You’re in my handbasket. ![]()
I do hope that the priest gets rested up and back on his feet in time for the vigil swampy.
VanGo, I really like that design. Personally, I would totally go with bright primaries, with maybe ABC on the first step and 123 on the second.
While talking to the neighbor with the sweet boxer in building 9, I found out why the grass hasn’t been cut. He works for the lawn service company and said that there was a contract dispute. Oy vey! With the recent storms, there are a lot of small branches and sticks on the ground as well. I’m giving it one more week before I take pics (with some of the dogs for scale, of course) to send to codes. Anything over 6" will have them out here cutting the grass and billing the property management company.
Or a trip to Corpus Christi, Texas
Anyway, day went pretty much as planned, moved weights and combined for 14+ miles and 500 burnt calories on two different bicycling machines, took an evening walk and taught some goalkeeping, so a bit tired but feeling good after the Thorwsday Chee-Burger.
swampy, I do miss our Golden Corral, there’s one in the next town over but it’s older and not as many varieties as the one we used to have. Hope current priest takes it easy.
shoe, that’s what competence gets you; more work. Hope he remembers to pay for it.
red, I think Nelson has a more active social life that I ever have had…
boofae, sorry for the bad weather, but hope you’re still having fun.
flyboy, interesting times…glad your full up for heating fluid.
Wheelie, always something at the last minute. Hope it all gets worked out. If I had their corporate header, I’d write it for you, I’m pretty good at Bureaucratic Saying Nothing stuff…
OW, I really do miss Mike/Ruble; not as much as you do, of course, but thanks for the stories.
nellie, the waffle iron comes from a comic strip that I never thought was all that funny but made me laugh my head off when I saw it and I still grin thinking about it: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/343681015314182006/
Cookie, hope the move went well and the re-connect with niece-in-law is fruitful.
OK, dinner is quietly assimilating and all is quiet, so some internettin’ and readin’ will conclude the evening’s festivities. All y’all take care.
I finally settled on a #25 sub from a nearby joint. Thin sliced beef, “crispy potatoes” (tater chips from a local potato manufacturer) with mozzarella and a side of gravy.
… waiting on a rat buyer (haven’t had one in a while) while listening to all the ratties throw down on stale buns from work (y’all,
… erm, cut myself off there. Not sure anymore what the finale was to that sentence, but I’m sure in the moment it was HILARIOUS! And witty, and insightful.
Please do feel free to dispense all the rattie pictures you feel inclined to. As tense as life is lately, large doses of cuteness are needed. ![]()
Have you tried those disgusting looking and smelling Hartz fud? Delectables | Hartz
Hartz kills pets, I hate Hartz but when one of ours gets to that stage they get them. They look and smell like puke in a bowl but the cats always love them.
/Mom voice/ Do NOT allow your Asshole Manager “forget” to pay you. Keep track of your time and submit it tomorrow. You are not on salary, you are hourly. You have the right to be paid for every minute you work.
Hippy, your quilt is amazing, what a fantastic job you did! It’s such a good thing you had feline supervision, hoomans aren’t capable of that sort of thing by themselves.
Have a wonderful and restful cruise FCM. You deserve some you time and indulgence.
I’ve been keeping up, haven’t been able to post because the 5G cables are being run through our area and our online connection has gone to poop.
My baby pomegranate had a very unpleasant experience two days ago when we had a hard freeze. I can’t remember it ever freezing this late in the year before, weird weather indeed. I think the tree will make it, I’m waiting a few days before cutting it back to be sure I know where all the damage is. Yes, I could buy another, but it’s just a baby and it’s my fault it got hurt, poor thing. (It really is a good thing I never had children, the poor kids would have been bubble wrapped until they were 30.)
I picked up the surplus produce box today and found a smoked ham and a dozen eggs. Jesus was a Jew, why do people eat ham on Easter? I get the eggs and lamb, ham is weird IMHO. Not that I’m complaining, we likes ham just fine.
I took the leftover food to the office and showed my BFF the colors I had for her piece. She seemed pretty excited and helped me pick the colors for the ribbons and beads (deep rose, peach or a french blue for a contrasting color).
I’m sure I will enjoy doing the work, I do this stuff because I like it, but the instructions start at the bottom left and there is no reference to the center. This does not spark joy in my life, I always want to know where my center is.
I’m finishing up my current project so off I go to do more hated beading. (I don’t like doing beading, my working thread keeps getting hung up on the already attached beads, but beading sure does add a little something to the piece.)
The Council of Jerusalem
Since we’re going all GQ this week in the MMP. YMMV.
Love it all. Some Barefoot wine in screw top singles it is! And the chocolate idea is also sublime. Thanks for the ideas!![]()

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
$258 later (108 gallons, I think), we have a tank of propane, and I’ve re-lit the furnace.
Hank Hill approves.
My now 33 year old’s legos and high school science thermite are still languishing down there.
Booze, Legos,. and thermite? Do you need a basement dwelling roommate?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 85 and N.O.S. for the day. Rain is predicted the next three days. Yestiddy’s predicted rain/tstorms/apocalypse was a bust, so we shall see. Today we shall get haircuts, plus go to the Food/Winn/Harvey’s/Lion/Dixie to stock up on Diet Poopsie as it is on sale there. Long John Silver’s will provide sup as we have a coupon. I shall also await word on whether or not I get to be Officiant for the Good Friday service this evenin’. Either way, I am good.
Wheelie there are always glitches in real estate transactions. I am positive this will work itself out. They want you to have that lot and build that house so there will be a workaround to all this.
FlyBoy glad you’re all gassy again.
shoe and red maybe we can have a special Mumper handbasket.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ amongst the great unwashed attire. Woe!
Happy Firday Y’all! A Blessed Good Friday to all who observe.
Good morning everyone.
It’s currently 34 degrees and cloudy. Temps will never leave the 40s today. I usually turn off the heat in April, but with temps consistently in the 30s I haven’t done so yet.
I did not get to sign off early yesterday, in fact, I was on late again. There’s just too much stuff to do and I had some unexpected stuff come up. At the end of the day, the MPA needed to vent about a vexing issue, so I let her do so and then we talked about how she could proceed. Sometimes you just need an ear.
I am glad it’s Friday and I am signing off after eight hours, come hell or high water. Easter is back on at the kids’ for Sunday. Just something low key and I’m helping with the dinner.
I hope you all have a terrific day. I’m going to get my third cup of coffee. I need it.
Every day this week, I’ve been woken out of a sound sleep by my alarm.
“It’s my day off, today,” I said.
“I’ll sleep in, finally!” I said.
So why the
am I awake an hour before my alarm would go off on my one
day off?!?!?
shoe and red maybe we can have a special Mumper handbasket.
I’ve already called ahead and reserved a table.
hippy, I know I’m late, but that quilt is absolutely beautiful.
I took all day Friday off to sleep in late, then get stuff done - things like going to the DMV for my kid, the bank, grocery shopping and the like. It was delightful to have a day where I determinedly didn’t think about work. Of course, I’m back to work again, but since most people in my area celebrate Good Friday, I have just the one meeting. After said meeting, my plan is to enjoy a long lunch with my husband, come back, work for a bit and then log off early (and tell my team to log off early, too).
Right now I’m all sweaty. I went for a morning waddle with a friend I haven’t had occasion to see since October, even though she’s right around the corner. After she yelled at me for a bit for not teling her sooner about all the stuff that’s happened this year with my family (it all happened really fast), we had a great time. I’d forgotten how much I enjoy that hour in the morning.
Anyway, I’m waiting to shower until more people wake up. Evidently I’m the only one in the family who needs to work today, so everyone will probably stay passed out for at least another hour or so. Time to eat.
Morning all. Paper and pills are in their correct places and the day is shaping up to be a nice one, no rain and heading to 77F. However, sometime around midnight the rains are due to move in and like swampy, stick around for 2-3 days, so Saturday soccer refereeing may go down the drain.
Will visit the gym for my swimmin’ (doing 1,500 yards this week, may move to 1,600 next week) and sauna and hopefully get my park walk in before the weather turns.
talkie, glad you could waddle with a friend again.
shoe, know the feeling. Bodies are weird things.
OK, need to break fast pretty soon here and be about the day. All y’all have a good Firday (and not just because it’s Good Friday).
Happy Friday!
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of towels / rugs ready for the dryer and a load of jeans on deck. I’ll be glad when it (finally) warms up enough for summer clothes. That reduces my laundry by 1/3. It got cold again last night (39F when I walked Nelson this morning). Some days I have the heat on part of the day and the AC on later.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Hank Hill approves.
glad you’re all gassy again.
We really need to get natural gas. I’m pretty sure it’s cheaper, and you don’t have to worry about running out.
I guess yesterday was more tiring and stressful than we thought. We were snoring by about 7:00. I got up at 0600 this morning. Part of the fatigue was spending an hour in the dentist’s chair while Matilda the Hun went at it with a jackhammer.
I sure hope that mover doesn’t show up today reeking of whatever that was. It’s still lingering in the house this morning.
Wheelie there are always glitches in real estate transactions. I am positive this will work itself out. They want you to have that lot and build that house so there will be a workaround to all this.
I sure hope you’re right. I woke up with a stomach ache this morning. Our call with the loan processor is in one hour.
