MTV Video Awards - Best and Worst

I don’t normally watch MTV - they don’t really play music anymore,
but . . .

I watch the Video Music Awards last night

The Best, I thought was Pink, I like that song, and the censors didn’t bleep or skew the word “Bitch”, in her song, like I thought they would. I said “do they have the Cajones to play the song with “Bitch” in it, and to my surprise they did”.

The Worst, I thought was Guns & Roses, Axl sounded BAD, Axl looked HORRID. The Band sounded fine, the instrumental was good. Axl couldn’t get the sound with his earpiece or monitors right and his Mic was all screwed up, “Is he on or off”, his voice is Terrible/Horrible. I maintain that Guns & Roses SUCK ASS,
Axl Rose Go away and Stay away.

Bruce and the E-street band was good, Sheryl Crow was fine.
I liked Eminem, I think he is really good. I also liked Shakira.

Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy was OK, I don’t listen to their music.

This is my Opinion, not right nor wrong, but this is what I think.

Anyway, any thoughts

The most interesting thing to see was Eminem’s psychotic meltdown with Triumph, and then on stage.

The most bizarre thing to see was Michael Jackson accepting an award he didn’t even receive and then giving a shout out to David Blaine.

The best performance I thought was Shakira.

The worst things were Guns n Roses and that Ian dude dong pre- and post-show commentary.

The best part of the night were the ads for the Jackass movie, IMO. And the fact Detroit artists did so well.

Yeah, for me, it made the whole show to see Eminem get booed. You’re real hard, standing up to a puppet like that, with your posse backing you up there, Em. He just looked so damn childish when he was at the podium, threatening Moby. And the whole “poor me–I’m so oppressed” stance doesn’t really work that well when you win video of the year, does it now?

Ahem.

Anyway, other good parts (to my mind) was Pink’s acceptance speech, and Jimmy Fallon imitating her. Quite amusing.

I’m totally with you, Happy, on Michael Jackson doing that strange, strange shout-out to David Blaine–what did he say? “Your magic is real and I believe in you.”

And Guns and Roses was a little bit before my time, but I did like seeing the guy with the KFC bucket on his head!

I caught the show on its last hour…
I thought it was an horrific display of idiots!!!
I like some of those people’s songs, but can’t stand their “super spoiled star” attitude. The most horrible thing was the way they dress, specially women… what a shame… what is wrong with Christina Aguillera?!

My favorite part, when Eminem thanked MTV for playing his videos when no one else would. Isn’t that like thanking DeBeers for selling you diamonds when no one else would?

Well, I really disliked those clips announcing the categories. YUCK!

I liked Jimmy Fallon. I didn’t like how Axl sang.

Christina Aguilera, I don’t know who your stylist is, but allowing yourself to look like a cheap Ho is not good, she looks like after the show was over she was going to work 42nd street, for Snoop.

Pink looked good, I like the Dominatrix look.

I thought the Hives were good. The singer cracks me up with his Mick Jagger/Iggy Pop imitation and proclamations about how everyone loves the Hives. I’m still trying to figure out what “The Hives are Law. You are Crime.” means. My brother got a T-shirt saying that at one of their shows.

When he accepted his last award, Eminem mentioned something about “anger management.” I wonder who told him to back off?
Did anyone else hear boos during Giuliani’s bit?

I’m assuming they were saying “Ruuuuuu-dy”. Just like for Bruce and “Bruuu-ce.”

Nope, there were boos.

And about the Eminem thing…I just don’t understand exactly what happened, but I dislike that puppet…

MTV is re-running, the VMA show, caught the early part, I saw Christina Aguilira being interviewed. She’s like Yo, What’s Up Homes.

Since when is she a Urban, Hip-Hop Chick, she must have gotten Mariah Carey Syndrome, thinking she’s from the hood or the street.

What happened with Eminem? I missed that. And I do like the puppet, but I grew up with Don Rickles.

And they were saying Boo-urns.

If this is a joke, I don’t get it. Otherwise, he’s headlining the Anger Management Tour.

Censor the word “Bitch”? Not exactly one of the seven smutty words, is it? Seriously, I’m not aware of any broadcasters censoring the word “bitch” (maybe “son of a bitch”)…but not “bitch” by itself. In fact, there was even a song called “I’m a Bitch” that got a lot of airplay a few years ago…

On the other hand…I noticed that the censors let the word “shit” slide by during Pink’s acceptance speech. Now that was surprising! I figured they’d snip it out when they rebroadcast it…but nope–I watched it on Saturday, and they left the “shit” in. Maybe they gave her a pass because she was so drunk and slurred the word…

I like that song “Just Like A Pill”, I like Pink’s voice and the instrumental, of the song. There is a radio station in town where I live, when the song gets played they skew the word “Bitch”, I don’t get it, I don’t get the Prudish thinking in this day and age, Meredith Brooks has a song called “Bitch” that does not get censored.

I haven’t seen the “Just Like A Pill” video on MTV, have seen it on VH1 that doesn’t get censored, I wasn’t sure how far MTV goes.

I did see the rebroadcast, channel surfing, and surprised they left shit, in Pink’s speech.

I like Pink, she’s cool, she’s from Philly, local girl, and she’s got attitude.

Who was it who said that Pink is Britney Spears for the junior-high girls who smoke in the bathroom?

Just don’t see the appeal there.

Britney’s “dominatrix traffic cop” look just didn’t go over too well with me. shrug

Hasn’t Christine Aguilerra made enough money yet? Can’t she just go away now? For that matter…
