I’m averaging about 3.18 posts per day, but I was off the board (computerless) for a couple of months.

The trick is to get a job where you’re supposed to be looking up work related stuff on the net, then get real efficient at it so you have time for other surfing.

It helps by knowing a little about lots of things, but not enough to know when to shut up

I agree with the sentiment in the OP.
I’ve been here since last May, and, what, 670 posts? Doing the math, it comes out to less than 40 posts per month.
But I spend hours on here every day. Okay, maybe not every day (not when I’m at my boyfriend’s, he doesn’t have a computer), but I’d guess at least 10-15 hours/week.
Maybe I’m just the silent type. Or maybe the high-post count people post proportionally to me, and spend 60 hours/week on here.
Life’s little mysteries.
This will be my 4534th post. I’ve been here nearly 18 months which works out to approximately 8.4 posts per day, or a little over one post an hour while I’m at work. My job mostly involves me sitting around waiting for something in the network to break, so I have lots of spare time. Plus weekends are even slower than weekdays, so I’ll get even more posting time in then. Add my shameless flirting (much more tones down than when I first got here, but it’s still pretty bad), a couple flame wars in the Pit, and my Welcome Wagon threads and you got my post count. That number would be much higher, BTW, if I’d had internet access at home before last week.
