Errr, no, of course not!
But seriously . . . most of my posts come during a 1-3 hour period every day when I read (with deliberate speed) and most of the threads I read are fairly short, which cuts down a LOT on the number of responses I have to plug through before I’ve read the thread.
In addition, last summer for a month and a half or so I had nothing to do all day, so I would go to school every day and post for several hours. There is a reason I was averaging over 500 posts per month:-)
Then you add in the fact that I type decently fast (usually between 40 and 80 wpm) and that I can seriously dedicate over two hours a day to this place. And that the bulk of my posts aren’t more than 200 words or so (as opposed to some I’ve seen that were several thousand).
And finally, just take the sheer time I’ve been here: more than 16 months. That’s somewhere near 480 days. At two hours a day that’s 960 hours, which is around six posts an hour, or a post every ten minutes or so. Now, granted on some days I’ll spend an hour and post three times, but on a Saturday or a Friday I might just have a lot of fun reading the boards for five hours or so and have lots to say. That might be 30 or 40 posts right there. And in 3 months that Friday and Saturday with 35 posts per day turns into 12 days and 420 posts. Figure in 10 posts Mon-Thurs and that’s 48 days times 10 posts, which totals a thousand posts in three months.
So it’s really not that difficult, given enough time and enough to say:-)
