Is there some trick to using multiple separated quotes in a single reply post without all the cumbersome copying and pasting from different tabs or windows? I just did one and it just seems unnecessarily exhausting! If that’s just the way it is, oh well. But if there’s something I’ve overlooked, do tell!
Click the little plus sign next to the word quote for each post you want added to your post. Click “Quote” on the last one you want and it’ll create one post for you that you can then edit.
Try it, click it on your post, then mine, then click Quote and you’ll see what happens.
Oh, I think I got it, lemme try…
Cool!
Thanks so much!
Also, I found out the hard way that they’ll post in the order that you click the plus signs. So if you read an entire thread and then decide you want to reply to a bunch of posts, don’t start clicking them in the middle or working your way back up from the bottom unless you don’t mind if they’re out of order. You have to go back up to the top and start over.
You can even use the same method to quote posts from different threads.
and it will chase you. if you have some clicked in other threads it will ask if you want them used or not.
I don’t know what’s wrong with the networks on my planet, but I’ve never gotten this to work.
I’ve mentioned, of course, that I run my browser with JavaScript disabled, – but I’ve tried this even with JS enabled. It’s simply never worked for me.
When I want to do multiple quotes, or quotes-within-quotes, I always have to open a separate editor window, do the cut-and-pasting there, and then copy the compiled result into a new post here. (Not that I really mind that too much. I’m old school. Back in the day, we had to do these things with keypunch machines.)
So THAT’s how you guys do it ! Head ? Blown.
Yeah, cool!
How I’ve gotten to be as old as I am with so little knowledge is beyond me. Thanks for teaching me this!
ETA: this post looks SO weird with my name at the top.
