I try and it doesn’t work.
The quote function here is spotty. It is easy to use, when it works. All you do is click the “Quote” button in the post you would like to quote. Then a reply box with the quoted quote opens. But it does not always work.
One clicks QUOTE on the post one seeks to quote.
To quote different posts at once click the icon next to that with inverted commas until it turns red, then repeat on each post, and finally click QUOTE on the last.
[ One can rearrange the posts as wished. ]
Otherwise type [ QUOTE] before the text and type [ /QUOTE] after — closing those gaps I inserted.
I keep getting into the problem of trying to comment multiple times in a quote and my text becomes part of the other guys post. I guess you use
etc for that? Is there an easier way?
If you have, say, three sections to reply to. put [ Quote] and [ /Quote] at the ends of each section, and type your response after each.
Close the gaps in those examples, again.
Yeah. First quote the person you wish to reply to. Before you put in your comment, type in
and after your comment type in
.. Like this:

That's good!

That sucks!

Which produces:

I don’t think anyone really wants it to be any easier, in order to discourage people from overdoing it, which is called “post parsing.” It’s generally best to reply–at most–paragraph by paragraph, rather than line by line.
That one inserted codes as interspersed [ code] and [ /code].
Seriously, you may be using the inferior basic editor. Go to User CP, go to Edit Options: at the base choose the editor you want; either Basic, Standard, or Enhanced.
And as sexy as this post is people don’t like it when you quote word by word either.
Yeah. But with these Philadelphia lawyers here I’m feeling the need to parse at the paragraph level.
Thanx
I just went to full WYsiwyg. Hope I don’t blow up.
Thank you!
