I’m ashamed to admit this, but I don’t know how to quote more than one person in a response. I certainly don’t want to have to post 3 responses by using ‘reply’ 3 different times.
Please show me how to do this.
Alternatively, right-click on the ‘reply’ button for each post you want to quote and open the reply in a new window/tab - copy the preformatted quote out of the new reply box and paste it back into the main window/tab. Repeat as necessary.
Since we’re opening our hearts and admitting dark secrets, please can someone tell me how to do that cool link thingamajigee. In other words, instead of copying and pasting the entire link complete with http 'n all, you make it appear as one word, and part of a sentence.
to insert a hyperlink: when you get to the point you want to insert it, click on the “insert hyperlink” button. It’s the little thingie that looks like a blue ball with an infinity symbol, fifth from the right in the line below font, color and size. See it? click, paste your text to display, click ok than paste your link. easy-peasy!
Though, some boards have this code so out of curiosity: test post-

Also another board I was on had a feature that added a little toggleable “+” button next to the quote button (looks like the quote button but smaller with a plus over the page) that would add it as a quote when you replied to the thread (if it wasn’t in the same thread it would add something under the reply box that said “you have posts selected not in this thread, would you like to add them to your post or discard them?” which you could disregard if you wanted to keep them but not do any of the above. Not sure if it’s part of teh default VB package, but if it is it could be a useful feature to activate, if for nothing but saving a tiny bit of time.
The easiest way to quote multiple people is to open a new tab for each person using reply function. Select all the text in each reply window and paste them all into one reply. All the special tags are handled by the software instead of you having to do it.
