Munchkin Mini Mafia

Hi.
I was really hoping that you would come to your senses and actually compare what Hockey Monkey has posted to what I have posted. By sheer volume of posts and accusation, of course I’m going to have more posts that rub people the wrong way. I’ve voiced suspicion of Cookies (Oh look a vote for me!); I’m being blamed for storyteller’s death (Look more votes for me!). But I thought we had gotten past the lynch-the-talkative bias and know to look at all the posts. Yeah, I’m playing the game. I’m participating – a lot. Can any of you seriously look at my posts and say that they show scumminess more that Townness? Why do I bother with trying to drive discussion, get the game moving, and analyze the situation if all you will focus on are vague feelings of distrust?

I’m not going to hold your disintegrating me against you, but the way you have gone about doing it is atrocious. Has anyone looked at Hockey Monkey? (I know ShadowFacts has in previous Turns), but anyone else? No one finds Hockey Monkey a little bit too clean? Uncontroversial? Quietly watching you kill me?

That is the problem here (and I admit I’m guilty of it too), you are all looking for signs of scumness in the form of “_______ is doing X because he is scum” instead of “_____ didn’t do something because he is SCUM.” Scum is to be found by the actions they don’t take just as much as the actions that they do.

Squid, I hope this is your LUCKY day. I will use my Cure on you (It takes effect before the disintegration). So your chance of survival (Cure + Luck) should be 75%.

Kill Hockey Monkey. And unlike storyteller, I’m telling you to do this with solid information. Do not be dissuaded by talk of Staff of Command. If the Staff was used to fuck things up, well then you are fucked anyway. Kill Hockey Monkey.

Oh, and Kill anyone with TWO ITEMS. Oh, you’re townie and you picked up the Orb of Healing to “help the Town?” Bullshit. You’ve kept your mouth shut way too long. That’s a recipe for blowing the use of the Orb and Chucara’s Cure (and mine). Any Townie who picked up the Orb should have said something. Any Townie who picked up the Amulet REALLY should have said something. Thus I conclude that the Orb and the Amulet were picked up by Evil.

Note: On Turn One storyteller had the Helm, Blaster Master had the Amulet, and tdpatriots is Good. All investigations on Turn One are not subject to reflection or empathy. The Staff of Command leaves some trouble, but if MHaye saw me target Chucara on Turn One, that would be evidence that the Staff was not in use (not full evidence, but some).
On Turn Two, tdpatriots had the Helm and the Hoard had the Amulet. Again all investigations should be clean
On Turn Three, some unknown person has the Amulet.

The Nuclear Option:
Our ability to disintegrate multiple people puts us in the position to win even if we have only a handful of confirmed Town. Usually to win via confirmed town, we need the number of confirmed to exceed half of the current population. With multi-disintegration we theoretically only need one, but three is probably a safe bet.
Obviously the Nuclear Option as so named, should only be employed if Town finds itself in a dire situation. You don’t know this yet, but after you kill me, Town will be in a dire situation.
Step One: Identify confirmed Town as A, B and C.
Step Two: A, B and C vote for NO ONE.
Step Three: All others vote for everyone else except for A, B and C and THEMSELVES.
Step Four: A, B and C vote for anyone who does not comply with Step Three.
Step Five: A, B and C must monitor the END of TURN
Step Six: If anyone unvotes during the END of TURN; A,B and C vote for the person who removed their vote (NOT the person who was unvoted).

If all A, B and C are Town, then Town wins
If one is Evil, then 3 handed will determine the outcome (Note, one will be Cursed, this is not an indication of Townness or scumness)
If two or more are Evil, well you screwed up your confirmed Town list didn’t you, and you were going to lose anyway.

The method would also work with one confirmed Town, but the risks of End of Turn messiness is higher. Then again, if you fail to make headway in this game, you might not have a better choice.

I’m not quietly watching you die. There isn’t a whole lot more for me to say at this point. You are lying, and the only proof I’ll have is my death. I’m not even opposed to dying anymore as at least the Good people will have a clear target for next Turn. Actually, if we are at lylo, then I am opposed to dying as it will probably lose us the game. So if you guys are going to disintegrate me, you probably should disintegrate both of us just to be safe.

I looked back.

sachertorte’s slip tweaked me a little harder on this read through. But other than that, it’s seemed pretty clean. But so has hockey - somewhat suspiciously so.

But your defense post just now is somewhat dumb.

That can be chaotic - especially the orb, and best I can tell, we don’t have the lynches to play with to deal with that right now.

I’m positive that one of you is scum. I am not ruling out bussing. A double lynch keeps us at the same point as we are now for win/loss, and maybe improves our lot. A no vote would do just as much, but this is more accountable.

My defense post is dumb? Whatever dude. We’ll see in about 20 minutes.

If you both come up town, I’m conceding.

Darth you seem to be developing a pattern of voting really late in the Day.

Now that you say that, it occurs to me that if Evil has the Staff of Command, they could have redirected Sach onto one of themselves and he would have gotten an Evil reading on whoever he thought he was investigating. (ME!) Chances are slim…I think he’s Evil himself, but I guess it is plausible. If he comes up Good too, then we’ve lost.

So, Hockey Monkey.

I started reading through her posts. Comments about particularly noteworthy posts follow.

It’s a simple solution to a debate that had been going on for most of the Turn to that point; what to do with magic items. It gives me a mild twinge; I think that it makes Team Evil’s job a little bit easier overall if we were all denied items. Team Evil can plan and synergise better, and that’s going to have more of an effect in a low-power environment.

The smiley? That’s the sort of thing I’d do to camouflage intent.

The suggestion does make me believe HM’s claim to be Lawful, though.

Slight pro-Good impression from this post. Pointing out a drawback of her own class ability when she could have said nothing. Not much of a pointer, but it’s there. A feather in the pro-Good column, as it were.

This bothers me slightly. It took something at face value that even I read as joking around. I pictured Boozahol writing the quoted post with a huge grin. Why take it seriously? Misread yes, but maybe it’s a gentle stirring.

Declines to reveal Turn 1 action. Did she ever do so?

Long post that looks helpful, setting out all the roles and powers. No follow-up analysis on what it might mean. Was it done in order to appear helpful? (If it was private reference, it need not have been published). HM notes that she thinks someone asked for such a list; I have no memory of such a request, at least not of that format. Doing nothing while appearing helpful is something Team Evil would like to do.

At this point the scales are definitely leaning in the direction of HM the Lawful Evil Human Thief.

One thing I should say; I’m not counting any post in which HM asks questions about rule actions and comments she doesn’t understand (there have been two incidents) because I think anyone might be confused in this game; Sachertorte has generated a lot of questions, and I’ve had about 3 or 4. Not understanding an interaction between an item and a class power isn’t scummy.

HM has pretty much disappeared this Turn, despite defending herself from a low postcount charge late on turn 2 on the grounds that a large fraction of Turn 2 was at a weekend; this Turn was not, and she’s made three posts.

I don’t get the feeling that this is how HM normally plays. The last time I caught her behaving like this, she had something to hide (to whit, she was a Vig). Does she have something to hide? I definitely get that feeling.

Sch, on the other hand, has generated a veritable torrent of words… Pretty much everything we’ve talked about has had Sach input; the game structure, the analysis of the powers and items – a long stream of analysis. Too many words for me to do more than form an overview of. We haven’t always seen eye to eye, but I appreciate the effort.
If Sach is in Team Evil, then he’s come out with a bang in order to drown us with words.

I can see that working, because there’s a feeling of “Evil would never do that” in the suggestion that talking nineteen to the dozen is risky.

Looking at post [post=10883557]701[/post], however, the Nuclear Option makes me uneasy. It claims to be a method that Town can use when they find themselves in dire straits. I’m not sure it is at all workable. My initial problem is that getting the Good people to work together is like herding cats. It seems to be a pro-Town idea, but there is one thing missing. It doesn’t address the Law/Chaos issue. LG players have zero reasons to implement it until they have proof the CG players have divested themselves of items. That could be a simple oversight, or maybe he reckons LG players don’t deserve the win? I don’t know.

My overall impression of Sach is that he wants to push this game for all it’s worth; the trouble is that is not a tell. Overall, I think his analysis and impetus has been of help to the Town. That, and the feeling that Hockey Monkey is hiding something, lead me to vote for her.

Vote Hockey Monkey

In any case, it is vital that Boozahol survive the Curse, in case we are at LyLo.

Who did I quote right after I said that? Not you.

Twice doesn’t make a pattern. It’s been a hectic week - I’d rather the days were longer, but nobody’s asking me.

Here’s where I remember Cookies asking for us to give info. I just put it all together.

It reads differently then. No sweat.

I hope this doesn’t lose the game ya’ll. :frowning:

I didn’t remember that. I had a memory of DarkCookies suggesting it be worked through and all the chances put in, but that’s not what you did.

Me too.

And that’s the Turn.

Results in a bit, but feel free to continue…

Holy Shit. I’m seriously impressed guys.

I had an enormous post ready to go excoriating you all for being… well, we’ll just delete that post shall we?

I am seriously dying here, Pleo.

Sorry for the delay, this was a complicated Turn.

Yes, yes yes. Wooooooooo!

(Bad news on Cookies, of course).

Even still, Wooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Hey, I actually voted for a scum! I don’t care if both choices were scum, this is a market improvement on my part.

On the down side I’m a bit under the weather, and unlikely to see the next turn. I have been cursed.

Booz you are still alive? That’s interesting.

So anyone want to explain why they have multiple items on them before I vote?

unvote: sachertorte

I’m alive!
