Music Matchbox to itunes

Merry Christmas. Just got an ipod and using itunes cannot figure out how to transfer my music matchbox mp3’s to itunes, so I can then download them to the ipod. Can anyone help?

You mean “Musicmatch Jukebox”?

Yes, I do indeed. For some reason, I am always calling it by its wrong name.

Merry Christmas and happy iPod. I got an iTrip today! Woo hoo.

Here’s what I found:

"Importing from MusicMatch

When you install iTunes, you’ll be asked if you want the digital music that’s already on your computer to show up in your iTunes music library. When you choose “yes”, pointers to each song recognised by iTunes will be added to your library.

You can also choose to copy all your music files to the iTunes Music folder. Simply choose File > Add To Library, then locate the music files you want copied into your iTunes Music folder. After adding these songs to your iTunes Music folder, you will have one copy of each song in the iTunes Music folder and one copy in the original location."

Good luck. I don’t know how current this info is.

The other option is to open iTunes and go to File>Add Folder To Library and select your folder(s).

I just got the Dell Pocket DJ (which by the way appears to be a piece of shit - it doesn’t seem to hold a charge and it locked up the first time I tried to use it, rendering it useless during the 3 hour ride from my parents…and the customer service sucks…fuck you Oprah) and it looks like Musicmatch Jukebox and the iTunes player just won’t have anything to do with each other. In other words, you have to load everything into whatever interface your player runs off of.
Not a big deal, but I really don’t feel like recreating my playlists since I prefer the iTunes player.
