Musings On Changing My Username.

No real plans to change my username on these boards. I actually have been on the boards since 2001 (the 2002 date on my profile, is because we had to reset it all in 2002). But boy, 2001. The age of consent where I live is 16. So it is now legal to have sex with people born the day I joined these boards. A little strange, I know, but no less true.

But if I ever change it anyways, I would like some input. Nowadays, if I join a board, I usually go a Jimbee. Of course, that isn’t anymore creative than Jim B. So I guess there would be little point in establishing it here. I also once chose the name of Hunu on a board I was on, quite a while ago. Who Knew such stuff was true, get it? I also thought of Tooth. You see, back when I was a child, I didn’t count “twentieth, twenty first, twenty second…” I said, “twentyoneth, twentytwoth…” Tooth is a phonetic spelling of “two-th” because I am a reincarnation of my former self. Or maybe the reincarnation of some former member of the message board. You get the picture, don’t you?

And this next one I have to test you all on. It was the name I chose once on a message board. Let’s see if you can get it: Suomynona Q. Nhoj. Some poster asked me if I am from India LOL. No it’s not Indian. Have any of you got it yet?

Thank you all in advance for your input:)

I don’t recommend you change your name but then I have a similar one, so…

Just don’t get too cute & change it to something that might attract unwanted attention. My first name was yezlles, which is the backwards version of S.Ellzey, and in the off chance someone with that first initial and last name or who knows someone with that name saw they might have picked up on it and asked. Not to say of course, that you or the average person would be as paranoid as that.

So now someone named “Covfefe” is lecturing about avoiding unwanted attention. Why you’re the very namesake of unexpected unwanted attention.

Then again, who better to know of the downsides than someone with a moniker like that?

Esp. given his join date and the date on which said term was (accidentally) coined means he got it changed too…

I think it’s time you graduated to Jim C. Or would that be a demotion?

Maybe try something like John Q. Anonymous. I like that one!

This isn’t really about this message board. Since the OP is seeking input on changing his username, let’s move this to MPSIMS.

YOU have regrets?!

Anyway, you are henceforth Jimboree. Wear it well.

I once contemplated changing my username to Wild-Assed Guest, but was too lazy to fill out the paperwork.

Twitchy Nose Fluffy Bunny is a strong name that commands respect. You have my permission to use that name.

I changed my username 8 or 9 years ago because it was too much like my own name, and through a long series of events that are hazy now there was concern (by a non-doper I knew IRL*) that one of my threads could have indirectly outed a gay man. I had been unhappy with my username for a while so I became the fusion of classical art and pop culture you see today.

*The person who was concerned was probably hyper vigilant at the time…no one else mentioned it.

I think I’ve influenced at least a couple of people in their choice of username change (however none of them are around any more, so I suggest not listening to me when I recommend changing your user name to Doctor Whom.

Change it to Chicken of Bristol.

Change it to Jim B. Periods are for women and hockey games. And the end of sentences.
