Here’s a link to my post in the old thread, it has links to kitty pics.
Oh. My. Og. The bell tower condo is amazing. I’m going to the office to sign the offer contract first thing tomorrow morning. There may be competition, but I’ll bet I’m willing to pay more than they are. Pictures. I’m so retardedly excited. I hope I get it. I’ve already started decorating in my head.
Kalley, I’m sorry about little Molly. Sounds like she had a good life and was well-loved. And I hope Angel gets spoiled to high heaven like she deserves.
Speaking of pets, I can’t wait to see the cats figure out the spiral staircases. :evil laugh:
I’m so not impressed with my fancy-schmancy new DSL. Or maybe I’m unimpressed with my cranky old 'puter. Whichever – I was Internet free all weekend, and that does make me a HappyPansy.
Mr. Mad (I gotta think of a better name for him! He’s really rather cheerful.) claimed he was tired, and nuked hotdogs for his turn to cook Saturday. I made him feel terribly guilty by making his very favorite meal ever on Sunday. With round steak personally smooshed & scored by me instead of cheating by using cube steak. Except not so much. He doesn’t feel at all guilty.
My feline overlords have psychically deduced that they’re all going back in the cat-carriers for their yearly trip to the (pause for gasps of horror) vet! So far, they’re just hissing at the closet where the carriers are temporarily stashed, and refusing to purr for my treacherous self, even during catnip-induced tummy rubs. I’m sure the howling will commence right about the time I nod off tonight.
ChaoticDonkeyBear, your tale has made me glad I’m no longer single. But I can’t wait for the next installment! Why did I stop watching soaps?
Oh, yeah, that get-a-job-so-we-can-live-indoors-and-eat thing.
The Crockpot cake was terrific! Can one OD on chocolate?
Random stuff: My brother and I have taught his kids the standard shortcut pre-meal prayers that we’ve learned along the way:
“God’s neat, let’s eat!” (My brother learned this at a very Catholic summer camp.)
“Grace.” (A logical last line in the following conversation: “Who wants to say grace?” “I do! I do!!!” “OK, go ahead…”)
There are more, but I can’t remember them. Also, I’m pretty sure I’m going to need to share the beer grace with my brother.
I am not personally acquainted with any Martians. As far as I know. (Highly amusing OP, Sean.)
Yay for new puppies (Angel and Brie…). Sorry about Molly, but glad your Mom is doing better, Kalley.
Popeye is a very cute kitty, WileE.
Personally, I feel much safer knowing that Puggy was at work to keep all PR emergencies under control. (Please bop your powers-that-be one upside the head from all of us!) Hope you and yours made it through the weather OK…
And on preview…Drae. Very. Cool. House. You must buy it. Just tell the owners the collective MMP said so. I’m sure they’ll recognize their duty to sell it to you.
Weekend was far too short, although pretty fun.
Tired…sleepy…off to bed soon.
GT
Oh, Draelin, I adore the bell tower! I hope you get it, too! It is cool enough to make moving actually worth the trouble!
Well, looks like my story may have come to a premature end.
cbmet with CNYN tonight at Waffle House, although not on purpose. They just happened to show up there. He asked cb what happened after he left last night, and cb told him, glossing over the making-out session. And by glossing over, I mean that he forgot to mention it.
Regardless, CYNY told cb that he is fine with whatever happens, and will not continue to be mad about it.
Which means, that at this point, someone’s going to fall into a coma, because the drama can’t be over.
One time, when I was home from college, I was at my uncle’s house visiting. My cousin was there, as was my bible-thumping grandmother. My mind still nearly melts thinking about a Lutheran bible-thumper, but that’s a tangent… We were getting ready to eat, and said grace for my granny’s benefit. My cousin, ever the smartass and surely going to hell because he was newly divorced from a B’ahai woman, piped up with “Rub-a-dub-dub, thanks for the grub, yay God!”.
My grandmother was doubly mortified; because cousin Steve dared say it, and because I thought it was so funny that I spewed Pepsi all over my aunt’s refigerator. Both of us were consigned to the lowest depths of Hell that day…
Our little one (sorry no pics yet) just went in Friday. He is now an “it”. They sent home pain meds but he only needed it the first day. He’s been his usual [del]terror[/del] terrific self since.
Wile E, you have a really cute kitty!
Kalley, I’m so sorry about Molly. We had to put our dog down in July. The first pet loss that Little Miss[sup]TM[/sup] has really experienced.
Drae - you have got to get that house!
For the curious, the deYoung is San Francisco’s largest and oldest art museum. Its new building was opened just a few days ago.
Still no admissions from whoever it was that put my first aid box in the truck, condemning it to nine months of baking in the hot Inland Valley. Whoever they are owes me about $100 for the stuff that will not survive, not to mention we’re lucky nobody got hurt. The epinepherine alone is $25 per dose, and it likes to live at something resembling room temperature, not 150+ degrees. Hopefully the box itself doesn’t warp too badly, as that’s another $50 to replace.
The overzealous packer also ought to repay someone else a tank of gas used to deliver a spare set of house and motorhome keys.
Drae the bell tower condo is waaaaaay cool. Jake even! You must own it. Tell 'em I said so. That ought to be enough for it to happen.
donkeybear since CNYN says he no longer cares, he will either fall into a coma, get kidnapped by the mob, or have really messy hair. I think those are the three standard things that happen to soap opera characters.
For some reason, though I really tried to sleep late, here I am, sitting on my couch, all ready to go. If I were going straight to work, I’d be leaving now, but I’ve got forty minutes to kill because I’m going down to the realtor’s to sign the offer (with, of course, the approval of the MMP), and now I don’t know what to do with myself.
donkeybear, in my experience, CNYN is lying like a cheap rug. He is not fine with it, but this is one of those situations where if he isn’t fine, he shouldn’t say he is, and it’s his own damn fault if you live happily ever after. Good luck.
Bobbio, I’m going to hell for a variety of transgressions (most recently admitting to a friend that I thought another friend’s baby was the ugliest I’ve ever seen), so I’ll save you a seat. I expect the whole section to be populated with my friends. We may suffer eternally, but we’ll have snappy dialogue while we do it.
Now I’ve only got half an hour left to kill … thank Og for the Dope.
It’s true. Just think, you could work where I do and get the thrill of hearing me talk about accessibility survey outcomes and plan of correction, the Georgia Relay System for making calls to or receiving calls from persons with hearing or speech imapirments, and benchmark goals for the next fiscal year. That’s what we’re talking about at Management Team Meeting in about half an hour.
Still think it’s bad where you are?
Well, here I am sitting at work wearing layers of clothes cause it’s only 48 frickin degrees outside! I cannot keep up with the weather here any longer. First part of the day yesterday we are having a “tropical storm.” By the time I left at 5:30, it was clear and sunny. Ya gotta love Flawduh.
kalley, that is so sad about Molly but happy about Angel. One of my little ones is about to go. I’m pretty sure it is only a matter of weeks. I am going to be a real mess when it comes to making the final decision for the poor little guy.
bobbio, I love Frenchies. They are the cutest little guys. I can’t wait to see the pics.
drae, love the condo! I sure hope you get it.
donkeybear, CNYN sound unbalanced to me. Please be careful.
Tupug
Drae, I’ll add my voice to the chorus saying how cool the bell tower is. And all those windows in your bedroom! I love windows! Send more pictures once it’s yours and you repaint.
How come no one commented on my cute kitty pics?
Kalley, I’m sorry to hear about Molly but glad your mother’s doing well and is going to get another dog.
DonkeyBear, the ongoing saga is great. Keep the stories coming! It reminds the rest of us of how grateful we are not to be single. Although on the other hand, attention from multiple guys is always a confidence-booster!
Puggy, please come back as soon as possible and let us know you got through the storm ok!
Oh and send good thoughts to **Anaamika **today. She’s got a Big Thing going on at work today that’s been taking up lots of time and energy to plan, prepare for, etc.
(This must be my week of double posts. I’ll try to remember everything I wanted to say all at once and get it all in one post from now on!)
And Puggy, you posted while I was typing. Glad to hear you made it through ok!
Magic Eyes asked in the other thread if my kitten still sleeps on his back. I haven’t seen him do it as much lately but I think he has to be really relaxed. One thing he does while I’m sleeping is come up and tuck his head under my chin and rest on my shoulder and purrs loudly.
Last night was a little chilly here but I had a few cats to keep me warm.
I mentioned the fantastic new t1 internet connection at work, it’s great but now I have to figure out how to keep people from abusing it. When we only had one computer that was not connected to any others and was used only for internet and running EKG’s it was a lot easier to monitor the activity. However one of the people who was supposed to know better (not me) still used it constantly for personal mail, her kid’s schoolwork, etc. Even though there everyone was notified that all activity was monitored. (no, it was not me - I only accessed my personal mail on a few rare occasions out of several years when my home computer had died.)
It’s not practical to have a keystroke monitor on the computers that are used for our practice software so I have to find some sort of internet monitor that will keep track of any websites visited. Since I am planning on possibly switching the browser (because I hate IE and all it’s security issues) it would have to be capable of doing so with several browsers. Anyone have any suggestions?
Wow, you guys have been busy!
Kally, I’m so sorry to hear about little Molly.
Draelin, the condo looks and sounds pretty cool. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Okay, here is the link to my Halloween party picture. It’s a picture of Mr. Taters and I at a friend’s house. It’s the only picture they took and I think I look sucky…I can never take good pictures. It’s the last picture on the page, look at your own risk. Taters Halloween costume
I better get back to work now
Draelin, that condo is really cool. I love the hardwood floors. The only thing I’d be wary of is that spiral staircase. Getting beds up and down those stairs will be a bitch! But then…that’s why you hire movers!
Good luck!
Well, your days sound much more fascinating than mine so far. I just woke up and showered and dressed. The next snippet in the saga consists of
cb invited **AGNM **up to his dorm room this evening.
but since he hasn’t shown up yet, I can’t bore you with any drama or anything.
