My God, the Drama (Queen) or Liberal is a tool

I know others have mentioned it. I know I’m not the only one sick of it. But I just have to get this off my chest.

Liberal… the drama queen Liberal, who (I don’t know what the rule is on linking, so I’ll quote for ease of reading) wrote on THAT OTHER BOARD on March 2nd, 2009, in a thoughtful OP entitled “Causing problems on SDMB” started by CRSP, the first reply in that thread is from who else but Liberal, who wrote

This gave me hope. Liberal was claiming that he was going to quietly walk away from the SDMB, and that’s the class thing to do. Good for him.

However, he couldn’t stand it. No one missed him. 5 days pass. So what does he do? On March 7th, 2009, he writes this pathetic plea for acknowledgment, which some of you have unfortunately stumbled on called We’re finally moving!, a clever opus written, as Liberal claims in his not-so-subtle OP on THAT OTHER BOARD called 37,601, that “It was just a flow of thought, really.” Uh, yeah.

But go read that grand OP, 37,601. It reads as follows:

Followed by a link to his “Look at me! Please notice me and tell me how great I am! PLEASE! Validate me!” post on the SDMB. And then, paranoia sets in.

After the obligatory “Great post, Lib!”, “Beautiful post, Lib!”, and the other ego-stroking mutual masturbation postings, Liberal notices that his thread is sinking like a stone. His reasoning?

Really? That’s the reason it’s sinking? Or perhaps people just don’t want to jerk you off in public on a message board. Perhaps they just don’t care. It is possible, you know.

Then someone points out the obvious. Jeff has the balls to actually post it.

There you have it. An actual observation. Jeff is then pummeled with the normal vitriol expected from the Usual Suspects. To his credit, Jeff stands by his analysis of the situation.

But wait! Liberal gets another chubby in his pants because his thread is moved to ATMB and points it out with (bizarre) glee.

Now, in the ATMB forum, the thread is 3 pages long and all over the place. The only thing good that came out of the post that it was indeed Liberal’s last post on the SDMB. 37,601. Wow. Thirty seven thousand, six hundred and one posts. My God. Is that even possible? I guess when you can just hammer out an OP like the “We’re finally moving!” by “flow of thought”, I guess anything is possible. Stephen King doesn’t even write that much.

If anyone is concerned, at last count on THAT OTHER BOARD, he’s up to 258 posts. Since March 1st. Holy Christ.

Geez, I spent all that time stroking his, er, ego every chance I got, and he left anyway? You just can’t do enough for some people.

If you have a problem with Liberal, why not take him on on the board where he posts? I see this OP as an attempt to provoke a boardwar, and that ain’t cool.

Wait. You think the OP should start a new account on a new board to take someone to task about a post they made here?

When I was a kid, my mom made me read a book called The Hiding Place. It was during her born-again phase. The story was about a couple of Christian sisters who were taken to a concentration camp during WWII. At one point, the narrator told us how she’d complained to her saintly sister about the lice. Her saintly sister told her not to complain; in fact she insisted that she thank God for the lice. She said that God has a reason for all things, and as a lesson in humility she must thank God for the lice. Now, at the same time, there was an especially brutal prison guard, a woman who delighted in torturing the prisoners when they were working out in the yard. Their only peace from her was at night, in their beds. One day our narrator overheard the brutal guard tell another guard that the reason she stayed out of the dormitory was because of the lice. And thus we learned to thank God for the lice.

I, personally, think Ed’s recent micromanagement is a bad thing. But if it’s driven **Liberal **to leave these boards for other climes, then I thank God for Ed’s micromanagement. Who’ll join me in a hymn of thanksgiving?

He’s mostly bitching about things posted on Domebo, and I think that particular forum is limited to members only, so he probably already has an account there.

Isn’t this about the fifth time he’s left the board in a puff of drama? At least this time he’s not going on about his imminent demise.

Now you’re talking. Nonetheless, users are urged to avoid disparaging comments about departed (or sorta departed) posters. We don’t want a board war.

Much of the OP addresses posts that **Liberal **made on another message board. We do not permit people to bring business from other boards here. Thread closed.
