My greatest influence - an early MMP

What he said. You’ll live past it, and consider it a lesson. Or not, either way, I don’t think anyone here is ready to pass judgment on you.

Happy Friday, y’all! And Happy Anniversary to the Taters and the Snakes!

Haze, don’t sweat the small stuff. Everybody makes mistakes…

We’ve been to the used bookstore and bought 50 cent paperbacks. I got James Fennimore Cooper’s The Deerslayer. I’ve never read it before…

Tonight is my last shot!!! Woo and hootie-hoo! I’m so glad to be ending this crap. One more week of pills and I’m done! :: happy feet::

To celebrate I will be making pork tenderloin, NOT au gratin, and asparagus. And nanner puddin’!

Well, you just hold your horses, there–not so fast. I have a question for Ms Skanky Cafe Mocha…

Is he cute?

Yay for you Rebo! I know you’ll be glad that’s all over with. When do you go back to work? It’s great that you could use short-term disability leave. When I saw you were doing that it reminded me of why I pay a small monthly premium to have short-term disability insurance.

We’re getting a new water meter at work. Excitin’ huh? They just shut off the water to yank out the old one and put the new one in. The water, gas and light guy talked to me about it yesterday and we agreed on two o’clock this afternoon. The guy even came in shortly before time to say they were gettin’ ready to shut off the water. I wonder how long this will take.

In other news, we’re now in the dust mop bidness. Woo and Hoo.

A legitimate question. The time I messed around with a girl (way back when the world was in B/W, and Beaver was a character on a TV show…) that was engaged to a guy I knew, I completely exonerated myself in my mind with the fact that she was incredibly beautiful.

The water’s back on. I knew y’all would worry until I checked in.

Which reminds me of a time back when my company was in our old building which had fourteen floors and the water got shut off one day. Try to imagine that many working women taking the elevators and begging to use the potty at the Seven Eleven.

Happy Taterversary!!!

Happy Snake… um, er, well Happy Anniversary to the Snakes!!

Had to deal with idiot stupidhead again today, and I may have to go in tomorrow and deal with him again. We shall see. But for now I’m home and warm.

Class last night was OK, with some disappointment. We will be covering stuff that I don’t know, so that’s good. But we won’t be covering a lot of stuff I want to know, so that’s not so good. And I discovered that there’s no sense in taking the intermediate and advanced classes because all you do in them is independent projects. I can do that at home without paying for it. So I’ll be looking for a follow-on class eventually.

One funny thing - there was a girl in the class - couldn’t have been 20 yet - with beautifully done nails and all kinds of jewelry. She was not pleased to learn that she had to get clay(!!!) on her hands (!!!) and there was bacteria (!!!) and mold (!!!) in the clay. I told her to embrace her inner toddler. She didn’t get it, but I heard one of the more mature classmates snicker.

Gotta figger out what we’re going to do for dinner. I was thinking tuna steak, so I better pull some out of the freezer. That’s about all I feel like doing now. I had a bad night because of a weird dream. It started with trees falling on my house, and somewhere along the line, Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs showed up. Plus I kept waking up all night. Methinks tonight will be an assisted sleeping night… <yawn>

It’s burger night at the swampcave. I bought some fresh ground beef from the burly butcher yesterday and made burgers last night. I even remembered to cover and refrigerate ‘em over night. Anyways, when ACBG calls Ima light the grill and start grillin’ burgers. Might even do some frozen french fries in the oven, if I’m feeling overly ambitious. MMMMMM… burgers. Hmmm… I have some bacon in the fridge (burly butcher bacon!) maybe I should fry some bacon (Fully clothed, don’t think I didn’t hear those <snerks> ya preverts!). Then we could have bacon cheeseburgers.

When foraging in the fridge in search of the tuna steaks, I found a pound of scallops, so scallops it is!!

Yum!

See, now that’s why one shouldn’t get so organized in one’s fridge. That way you discover nummy surprises like scallops.

I was a good girl – I went to pull fish out of the freezer per Papa Tigs’ instructions, and I did not pull out the big package of scallops he had hidden back there. Not that I didn’t want to!

Alrighty…back to a well-worn subject: Jigzone.

Anyone try one of those 108 Swirls cuts?

Oy.

My brain hurts.

Holy crap. It’s snowing like a bastid outside. Gonna be a fun trip home, I expect.

Happy Anniversary Snakes and Taters!!!
*… *… *… *

Off to hockey!

Haze, things happen, don’t get too bent out of shape.

How long ago did you buy scallops that you forgot all about them in the fridge?

I wish my fridge could surprise me with scallops! Usually, it just surprises me with sprouted potatos and green sour cream.

Happy Anniversary Taters and Snakes! Every time I see this, I think of the Conway Twitty/Loretta Lynn duet, Spiders and Snakes. I love their duets, especially the all-time classic, You’re the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly. Now that’s Country! :stuck_out_tongue:

I had lunch with a friend today. It was fun to get out of the house, even if I had to drive through the tilt-up wasteland that is Sunnyvale. And people have the nerve to complain that downtown San Jose is sterile!

Funny you should ask that, because I did look at the label - the original sell by date was Jan 6, 2006. But they were good, so apparently you can freeze scallops for a year.

I should probably not mention this, but I think I have six bags of frozen green beans. I kept forgetting I had some. Meanwhile, I didn’t have lima beans when I wanted them. Which means I’ll probably end up buying a dozen bags before I remember that I don’t need any more.

This might be a good weekend to inventory the freezer…

MMMMMMMM… scallopsicles!

Burgers are et. Bacon was fried to go with 'em. Bacon cheeseburgers are da bomb!

We also walked over next door to wish my neighbor a happy birthday. He’s 60 today. He’s also the one with alzheimer’s. His grandkids had called to sing happy birthday to him over the phone. That was sweet. We ate some cake. Now we’re home. It may be an early night cause we’s tahred. A little veggin’ with the tube whilst in bed might be a good thing. Yep, it’s a constant party here.

Have I ever told y’all I have two upright freezers and a chest freezer? Well, now I have.

How did I miss the Snakes’ anniversary???

Happy Anniversary, SCL and Mr. Snakes!!!

Just proves you’re human, Hank. Ahhh, the joys of growing up (and, yes, growing up lasts pretty much forever, as far as I can tell).

I saw that kid twice this week, Mama T. No jacket, shorts and a long-sleeved t-shirt. I was happy to see he wasn’t wearing flip-flops.

Sorry about the burns, Bobbio, but kinda amusing in light of the fact that many people were celebrating Burns night.

Which reminds me of Spats. That pun was…well…awful. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry the class isn’t quite what you were looking for, FCM. Hope you find something better next time around.

Sorry about your aunt, LiLi. Prayers and good thoughts headed your way.

MBG, yeah, sounds like it was pretty dumb all around (Columbus schools don’t seem to have the very best management all around). Hope they come up with a background check that makes more sense and actually happens. Oh, and haven’t you heard me telling people to stop talking about JigZone? Now I’m going to have to check out those 108-piece swirls. :stuck_out_tongue:

OK, I’ve had my pizza for dinner and am contemplating something else. Then a bit of prep work for a meeting tomorrow.

I’ll be back after a while, I’m sure…
