Indexer.
(I do back-of-the-book indexes, primarily for books but also for training materials and other assorted stuff.)

Real Estate Developer (primary)
U.S. Army, Retired (only mentioned because I do draw a pension so it is an income source)
I’m on the other side of the fence.
ISO 9001 Quality Manager (although I have been an auditor too).
Medical imaging field engineer. Nuclear medicine and PET scanners.
“Full-time Homemaker.”
At least, that’s a job I found listed on a consumer survey that describes my current occupation best. I’m not female, so I can’t be a stay-at-home-mom as others mentioned. I don’t have any children or even a spouse. I’m otherwise unemployed and “earn my living” such as it is by doing everything a family member (who would otherwise live alone) needs to have done outside of their job much as any “housewife” would. I can’t say what my job would be if I were employed, because I’ve not held a job since getting my college degree and my degree was not taken with prospects of any particular job.
Children’s book author
Freelance magazine writer
Bookseller (I own an indie bookstore. Forgive the website, it’s a new design and I’m still working on it.)
You’ll have to be more specific than that, since we’ve had a bunch of different kinds of writers in this thread.
That was probably me. I used to raise Corriente cattle in Montana. Watch the May issue of Acres U.S.A. magazine for an article I just finished about the breed if you’re not familiar with them. I grew alfalfa, too.
Tax lawyer.
(And I beat Damuri Ajashi to the thread–woot!)
Library clerk (not librarian).
EFL Teacher (not ESL!) and owner of a small independent English school.
We’ve had a program director post but not in the government, so that’s me.
In case that’s a duplicate, my second hat is Change Manager for the city of DC. And that has nothing to do with vending machines.
Aw, thanks, but I’m too afraid. I’ve mentioned my job here and there on the boards and gotten quite a few backlash posts. Applied behavior analysis can be a touchy subject.
Editor and writer for a major Japanese publisher.
Generally speaking I am a stagehand.
More specifically, I am in lighting.
More specifically still, depending on the gig I may be a lighting designer, a lighting console programmer, a theatrical production electrician, or just a wrench. I could list about a dozen other jobs that I do, but I’d hate for a real rigger, audio guy or technical director to miss out on their chance to post.
Sex crimes prosecutor.
I am an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) of English at the elementary and middle-school level.
Mapmaker
Lab administrator.
Research Assistant for a biochemical lab.
Job 1: Independent Licensed Home Inspector
Job 2: In home care for adult with severe autism (no relation, friend’s daughter)
Weird combo, but it works for me.
Although there are quite a few other I wouldn’t mind seeing, I would really like an “Ask the…” thread from you.
I have had an obsession with Afghanistan for a LOT longer than we have been in a war over there. I would even be interested in short term (month or two?) volunteerism if I knew how to go about it.
