My Karma-O-Meter Just Exploded

Hal, that was beautiful. Who knows…she might be some rich widow and this is how she gets her smile for the day. She might have won it in a raffle, like others said, and wanted to give it to someone worthy.

It doesn’t matter…enjoy with a free heart. And, just to make sure you keep the karma scale balanced…buy some age-appropriate games for the kidlet.

That’s such a cool story (all the karma stories are cool, too). I thought the instant karma was going to be some fool in a car getting caught being foolish in front of the police.

EJsGirl, your story misted me up a little, too. When I was charity canvassing to put myself through school, I learned something surprising - most people are really nice. Honest to God!

Wow, what a blessing! Good for you, Hal. You did something nice for someone, and in turn they decided to bless you with a new PS3.
I say you deserve it, so don’t feel guilty at all. Don’t give it away, she got it for you for being kind. Rip that open and start playing. If you see her again, make sure to give her a huge thank you. And a hug!

Oh, I think I’ve seen that one too!

So Hal has the second best karma on the board.

I suspect you may be mistaken in assuming that the cashier purchased that out of her own pocket. Perhaps it was an unclaimed prize or other promotional offer the store had sitting around in the back room.

And by no means should you feel guilty about recieving it. Sure it cost you little effort and time to fetch that milk, but the action itself indicates that you are a kind and thoughtful person. The “gift” is not just for grabbing the m,ilk… it is for all the kind things you have done…

One time, when I was much younger I was working at a job, and having a hard time making times meet. I asked for an advance on my paycheck, but was turned down, as the company I was working for did not allow that sort of thing. I was up against rent, bill payments and short of food.

The next day, one of the elderly directors called me into his office, and handed me an envelope with $250 in cash. I promised to pay it back as soon as I could. He said… “Do it when you can comfortably… don’t worry about it… I believe in you.”

Two days later he died in his sleep, unexpectedly.

So, yeah, I pay it back, as I can, when I can. To peoiple who need it, and whom I believe in. I am NOt keeping track, but the interest on that loan is signifigant, as I know I have paid out way more than the original $250. (Not bragging, just showing how much I learned from that man)

So, accept that gift, and when you can and you know its right, pay it forward.
