My legs are smooth. (Most MPSIMS thread ever?)

I don’t shave as often these days as I typically do because I have a gigantic belly that makes reaching not “hard”, really, but definitely more trouble than it’s worth most times. So now I shave maybe twice a week unless I have some pressing reason to shave more often, which I can’t even think of off the top of my head (and, no, sex doesn’t count; he deals with it).

I just surprised the hell out of myself by reaching down to rub a leg that is totally smooth. I could think about it all night and I would never remember the last time I shaved my legs and yet…

Must have been yesterday. I’m sitting here thinking about it right now and I don’t even remember taking a shower yesterday, never mind taking the time for hair removal, but I must have because I am reasonably certain I did not shave today and I’m sure they are too smooth to have gone two days without shaving.

WTF. Is it October yet? I’m sick of being a moron.

Maybe last night you were sleepshaving? But this is something that your husband could be doing for you. I always had it done for me once I got yay big. But one time, early on in my first pregnancy, I cut my leg shaving, unknown to me, and put my panties on and then there was a big spot of blood on them and I thought I was having a miscarriage. Don’t do that.

OMG, scary.

I did tell Ben I’ll need him to help me with it eventually. I think he’s nervous but he’ll get over it. Or he’ll deal with hairy* legs. His call.

*As opposed to the mild stubble he endures now. I can get by shaving only every few days but let these babies go a week or more… EW.

It might be mundane and pointless, but I might post in my blog that I haven’t shaved my legs more than half a dozen times in the past year. Epilators turn out to be pretty awesome. After just a year I have a lot less hair on my legs due to their tendency to damage hair follicles over time. Silver Fire, another nice thing about using an epilator is that you don’t get prickily stubble anymore, either…but I’m too tired to try to properly explain why not cutting leads to soft stubble.

I have a friend (alas, not me) who didn’t need to shave her legs throughout her pregnancy. I can’t remember now if the hormones made the hair stop growing or just made it so fine it didn’t need shaving. Sadly, as soon as the kid was out, within a week, she needed to shave her legs again.

Maybe you’re done with the razor until October!

Earlier in the pregnancy, I posted on my Facebook “If the hair on my head grew as fast as the hair on my legs, I would look like Crystal Gayle.”

It used to grow super crazy, like need-to-shave-every-day crazy. I didn’t even notice it wasn’t like that anymore!

I’ve heard decent things about the epilator. We were just having this discussion among the neighborhood ladies the other day. I’ll have to look into that.

Silver Fire, why not treat yourself to a wax? It would last longer (unless you’re like me - my eyebrow hairs are poking through 5 days later).

My friend just started getting her legs waxed (she’s pretty large with child). She just entered her third trimester and she knows that when it gets closer, she’s going to get them waxed again. She doesn’t want to have hairy legs for her baby’s first view of them, not to mention her doctors, husband… and the video camera.

I have never had a leg wax before! Crazy, right? I used to get my eyebrows waxed until one lady effed them up so bad I very nearly considered drawing them in and then I realized that I actually have really nice, easily maintained eyebrows so now I just tweeze about a half dozen hairs out of each a couple times a month. I have the greatest eyebrows ever.

I should have a spa day. Leg wax, facial, massage… sounds great.

I’d probably forget all about it the next day, though. I want my memory back.

Hey, I’ve never had a leg wax either, mostly because if it’s anything like my eyebrows (which I wax myself) it’ll grow back within the week. But you’ve had your eyebrows done before with good results. You don’t want the baby to see mommy fuzzy ;). Treat yourself!
