Has all day. I think that means I’m dying. I’ve drank 2 liters of water today trying to flush it out.
Whats wrong with me?

are you a vulcan who accidentally bit his tongue?
I don’t know what’s wrong with you, Whammo, but at first glance I thought the title read “My mouth tastes like penises”; so count yourself fortunate that it is pennies.
First, start putting your change in your pockets, or at least trade in the pennies for nickels.
Are you on any medication or antibiotics? Some of those will give you a nasty metal taste. Also, are you stressed out about anything? You know the old saying about how something was so frightening or bizarre that it left you with a coppery taste?
Other than that, I have no idea. Brush your teeth really good and drink some orange juice.
A quick search on Google shows that a copper taste in your mouth could be copper poisoning. Have you changed you usual water supply recently? Drinking out of antique cups?
Eat Twinkies. Lots of Twinkies.
At first glance, I thought the title of this thread was:
My mouth tastes like penis
Carry on.
GMTA, Huh Mauv?
What can I say … I must have penises on the cough brain
I feel so sorry for you!
Two words: ASS PENNIES.
[sub]I’ve spent the better part of an hour looking for a link to an mpeg of this, but I can’t find one, so you’ll just have to read it. If you want to see it, all 46 Mbs, email Xploder, he’s got it on disk and it is worth it.[/sub]
Thinksnow, that’s one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen. Even more disturbing is that my little sister collects pennies…she must have thousands of them by now…makes me wonder how mnay of them have been shoved up someone’s ass
Eww.
HEY!!! This isn’t about ASS PENNIES or PENIS’S!!! Its about Penny MOUTH taste!!! Lets stay on subject here! …freakin hijackers… takin over my mouth penny thread…
My older brother has informed me that some girls taste like pennies, and I don’t mean when you kiss them. Could this be the answer?
Oh yes, of course, that MUST be it. How foolish of me. tries to change conversation
The metallic taste I once had in my mouth turned out to be a sinus infection - no symptoms other than the taste. A google.com search for ‘metallic taste in mouth’ turned up lots of references including this one:
My three-year-old daughter would have a change in her breath odor that sent us to her pediatrician. He said it indicated a tonsillitis problem, that most parents didn’t recognize the odor, and indeed, she did have an infection.
If you don’t have any other symptoms, let it go. I prefer to think that if this happens that you’ve fought off an infection. If you have other symptoms, see a doctor.
Flash of inspiration:
Are you taking a zinc supplement? Pennies are mostly made of zinc nowadays.
I’ve had that taste too (the penny one, not the penis one). It’s usually related to either a sinus infection, or allergy hell. I guess it’s probably post-nasal drip landing on your taste buds. I guess my other question would be how do we all know what pennies taste like?
Have you been drinking a lot of water because you are thirsty or because you are trying to get the taste out of your mouth? if you are that thirsty and have that taste in your mouth you may want to think about getting checked out for diabetes. when my blood sugar is really high I am really thirsty and have that metal taste in my mouth. my two cents.
Whammo, sometimes an iron deficiency causes a coppery taste. I have run across that several times, the latest with my girlfriend, who has a very low iron count. She has to take supplements.
Vidi Vici Veni!
high blood sugar will indeed cause a metallic taste…
