And of course the now-standard background “gang walking” music a la the entry scene to House of Blue Leaves in “Kill Bill, Vol. 1”.
I don’t think Crabman got to join the gang until after he and Joy got married. And I think he probably only agreed to do this particular caper because (1) it was for karma, and (B) because everybody loves Pop’s hot dogs.
My favorite line of the night: “Dodge only eats long skinny things he can dip in ketchup.” Joy is the best. Mother. Ever!
“Look at me- I’m sleeping and the TV screen is making Zs like I’m sleeping!”
I also liked Randy searching for the right word to describe the taste of the Winky Dinky Dog and finally coming up with “zoo”.
Yeah, I thought that was good.
I liked when Randy described the lobby as “It’s like when Ted put on his magic sunglasses and turned into the Matrix.”
You’ve obviously never been to Chubbys…in Wisconsin Dells, north of Madison. (Link marginally safe for work)
But I really love the writers/producers/whoever for making a comedy that isn’t the same old stupid Jim Belushi/Ray Romano stuff, pushing the envelope a little. I thought it was a really good episode, really good series. I never even caught that Crabman pushing the cart thing.
I think you’re right, on both counts.
CrabMan came along because “he’s up for anything”, but he wasn’t part of the “gang” in the past.
I hope Ribisi appears in a few more episodes before the end of the season. He’s already a great recurring character.
I loved how slowly they allowed the Buffalo/Syracuse joke to develop.
Ribisi’s timing and expression was just perfect in this exchange, which cracked me up:
Earl: Ralph, I appreciate your offer, but you’re not cuttin’ off your pinkie toe. We can find another way to do it.
Ralph: Yeah… pause Well… here’s the thing, Earl…
(That’s all he needed to say!)
The bit about the counterfeiter paying $10,000 in 20-dollar bills was priceless, too.
As for Joy, I love her facial expressions, especially that little smile she gets – and especially when you can tell it’s there but she’s trying hard for another expression. Case in point – her face right after Darnell bites into the toe-laden hot dog. She’s absolutely hilarious.
I loved where they were busted in the copier room. Crabman said:
“And that bottle of pee-pee was already there on the table, too.”
