My Name is Earl - 11/15/05

Lotsa good stuff here.

  1. Earl leafing thru Bride magazines and making centerpieces out of empty 2 liter Sprite bottles.

  2. Joy sending Crab Man down to the park before first light to save a shady spot for the wedding. In his 70’s style disco tux!

  3. Randy’s expression whenever Catalina is shaking her booty. He looks like Jack Nicholson in “Cuckoo’s Nest” after the lobotomy.

  4. Earl hitting Joy with the soccer ball at the first aborted ceremony.

  5. Earl’s expression when he knew he was going to have to wipe Earl Jr.'s butt.

But the best exchange was at the end between Earl and Joy while taking the “family photo”. I’m strill amazed at what you can say on network TV now.

Joy: Earl, I hope you get nut cancer (WTF!)

Earl (drunk): Nice Joy, you kiss your “igellitimate” children with that mouth?
Funny stuff. Can’t wait for next week when we find out how he costs his dad (Beau Bridges) the election!

I liked that Earl, Jr. called him “Old Daddy.”
And of course, Earl’s got his eyes closed again in the wedding picture.

How about Joy’s first choice of wedding attire - white jeans and white tube top?
Funny stuff indeed.

I liked how the wedding cake was a big pile of donuts.

I love the subtlety of the “white trash” touches…nothing too blatant, just that it’s accepted they’ll have the rehearsal dinner at a Chuck E Cheese, that the wedding cake will be a pile of donuts, and Joy will be making a mix tape by taping songs off the radio.

Earl’s only won $100K. Is he investing it, or is he spending all the money to cross things off his list?

Next week we find out how he cost his dad the election! Woohoooo!

Investing? HA! For the first few weeks he kept the cash in a box in his car. Now, at least, it’s in a safe deposit box.

Great episode. I felt really bad for Crab Man, but it’s nice to see that it all worked out. I loved the “good times” montage that Earl had with Crab Man.

I do so love this show! I particularly liked the Bridal March as “sung” by DJ Dave at the first ceremony. Plus, didn’t you love the way Joy Bedazzled right over the stain on her dress?

This show has become one of our favorites. Every week, Papa T. gives me the “real name” of one of the characters – i.e. the person he grew up with who’s just like that. It’s kind of scary, or it would be if it didn’t explain so much about him.

I loved the Earl/Crabman montage, too: “Hey, Crabman.” “Hey, Earl.” Rinse and repeat. Crabman is one of my favorite characters. Actually, I can’t say that; they’re all one of my favorite characters. It’s too hard to pick.

And Twinkies, can’t forget the Twinkies.

Earl (after waking up): “I can’t remember what happened last night!”

Randy: “I do. I remember all of it.”

You just know that the writers are drawing from personal family experiences. It’s just too genuine, like Del Shores’ Sordid Lives.

My husband and I were talking about Crabman.

Me: That Crabman or Darnell or whoever seems very nice.

Hubby: Yes, he’s a love.

Me: A real mensch. (pause) I don’t think he works, though.

Hubby: No, me either.

Pretty much sums up the character.

I love how Joy has a black kid and doesn’t know what to do with his hair. I’ve seen that in real life.

Best thing about this episode?

Catalina dancing.

ROWR!

I think this was the best one so far.

Doesn’t work how? Doesn’t work as a character, or doesn’t have a job?

I love the character, and I believe he works at the Crab Shack, hence the name.

Yes, Catalina shaking her booty was certainly the highlight of the show.

I liked Earl trying to explain to Crabman why the groom-to-be shouldn’t be upset that Earl slept with Crabman’s mom. Ooops, no, it was Joy!

Earl repeatedly having to push the bowl of nuts into place for the one-eyed guy at the bar was funny, too.

Funniest part was at the end just watching Earl dance. The expression on his face just made me crack up!

Love this show!

I can’t dance to save my life, but I CAN do “the robot” similar to how Earl did it last night.

you’re leaving out the best part:

E: I can’t remeber a thing
R: Well I wish we could switch, cause I remeber all of it

or some such . . . the “I wish we could switch/swap/trade” had me on the floor.

The “old daddy” line was great too, reminded me of the Simpsons where Ralph calls Chief Wiggum regular daddy because the New Orleans kingpin is Big Daddy

I believe he is not employed or at least not much.

he works at the crab shack. he’s a busboy.

No, he most definitely works at the crab shack, hence his name. Earl explains this in the pilot, and Crab-Man is seen several times working in the kitchen and delivering them food.
