No more love for Earl? The SDMB has been awfully quiet about him lately. Could it be no one has been liking the jail episodes?
Well, rejoice, Earl fans. He’s free. After the warden shredded Earl’s good behavior certificates, Earl decided to take things in his own hands and stage a prison break. But after the plans (and Earl. And Randy.) fell through (the ceiling of the warden’s office) Darnell came to the rescue and in a twist of fate
it seems the warden was a porn actor before his wife became governor. Darnell recognized him because the warden was shooting a flick in Darnell’s apartment back before Darnell went into the Witness Protection Program. The warden agreed to reinstate Earl’s certificates and release him if everybody just kept quiet.
So Earl has his freedom back and things can seemingly go back to normal.
Good quotes:
Warden: What’s the point of shackling him if he can do that?
Catalina: If I don’t get a seat on the bus, I have to hold the pole and it just feels like work.
“If you’re looking for things that didn’t work, I’m the guy”
“You know I had to spoon a dead guy for 7 hours all for nothing”
“I made a shiv-gun but I only have one round. I’m hoping that all the guards will be lined up at some point.”
Its going to be good to have him out of jail finally. Been a bit tired of that plot although this means goodbye to Craig T. Nelson. That I will surely miss.
I debated whether or not to let slip that Earl’s out, but I figured the episode had aired for anyone who might conceivably have seen it (almost 11:00 PST when I posted), and it would be moot by next week’s episode, anyway. Thinking about it, I probably should have spoilered it on the chance someone may have recorded it and not watched it yet. So I do apologize if I spoiled it for anyone. I’ll take that into account next time.
Anyway, that’s right, Earl spent all his money on the jailhouse prom, so he’s broke now. But maybe karma will reward him for that. I wonder if there’s a possibility he can get his job at the appliance store back.
In my market, KSDK 5, our NBC affiliate did not air the episode…instead we got a a special about Lutheran Senior Services…WTF. Not saying that Lutheran Senior Services is a bad thing, but my Golly, It’s EARL.
Well Earl found out that he was not getting his certificates honored and he started to freak out. He got locked up in solitary for 60 days so that he would break. When he did, they let him out and he realized he needed to escape. Him, Randy, Frank, and Pacco(?) started discussing ways to get out of the prison and Frank mentioned how he didn’t know how to get out, but he knew what wouldn’t work. A Hilarious montage ensued featuring failed attempts to remove oneself from jail.
That should be about half-way. If you have any plot questions that you missed, let me know. And no, no Catalina bikini…
Am I the only person who finds that getup ugly and ill-fitting and thinks she’s hotter in her maid uniform? Or did once having a girlfriend who was a hotel maid warp me forever?
“Hey Jesus, you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind - Hey Jesus!”
I’m glad Earl’s out. In truth I’ve slipped on watching the show, partly from the jail plot and partly because I thought they weren’t making new episodes anymore due to the strike.
I thought it was very good. I didn’t like him being in prison, but it was starting to grow on me a little. Now I’m glad he’s out, and am actually enjoying seeing the bad Earl come out a bit. The show is a little too goody-goody sometimes.
