Neat! Has anyone else seen these? The producers of My Name Is Earl have been slipping little extra gags in just for the High Definition audience. Look at these screen grabs:
I admit I usually watch it in HD, but I never caught any of those gags. Now I’ll be sure to look more closely (it took me a while to get the one from Joy’s wedding).
I’m not really up on that whole technology thing. Are these signs and whatnot only able to be seen by people with Hi-Def? How are they able to do that?
The screen size is different. Those fancy schmantzy high-def people get a wider image, while us lowly scum with regular TVs have stuff on either side cropped off.
You sure? I’m thinking that it’s because hi-def is broadcast in widescreen format, and all these things are at the edges that get cropped out for regular viewing.
And I HAVE and HD set, AND digital cable with HD, but no HD NBC! The god-damn cable company basically lied to me saying I would get all these HD channels, when in reality the only HD channels I get are a few cable channels, TNT, Discoery, etc…None of my broadcast channels are HD, because the local affiliates they get piped in from don’t broadcast in HD. Gee, thanks for telling me that, douche wipes. Isn’t there a way you can give me the NATIONAL feed in HD? Oh, what;s that? There is? You’re just too much of a cock knobbler to bother to do it? I see.
Actually, the cable company cannot give you a national high-def feed of any broadcast network. It’s because the networks can’t make any such feed available; doing so is probably the most effective way possible of pissing off their affiliates.
