My Name is Earl/Scrubs Nov 8

I don’t watch *30 Rock * or The Office, so that’s another thread.

I’m getting tired of the ham-handed “Let’s weave global warming into episodes this week because NBC wants to be green” attempts. It’s awkward and dull.

I liked to see Randy asserting himself with Earl.

So, Darnell does not believe in the moon landing? :dubious:

It was nice to see Tom Cavanaugh as JD’s brother again. I also didn’t know Sarah Chalke was 5’9"! I did like the tie-in that Carla said in the episode two weeks ago, “Listen up, because I don’t want to have to say this again in two weeks.” Which she did. Hee hee hee.

I giggled a bit when Ted told Janitor that he was going to tell him something that everyone who’s ever loved him has said to him and then told him that he’s a disappointment, he doesn’t love him, and that he should leave.

Besides that, I don’t remember much about the episode and was disappointed that there was no fun size intern.

I think the Earl writers agree, what with the lines like “but if we attempt to insert a green message into the Scared Straight show it’ll just seem crammed in and forced!” (paraphrased, of course).

I liked the choice of music, especially “Freeze Frame” for the freeze frame.

I guess they’re beginning the end to Scrubs…what with JD deciding he needs to grow up and all.

Strangely I didn’t, even though I do like all the songs used. For the most part they all seemed a little… unnecessary (much like the attempts to insert a green message), particularly the freeze frame. I felt like whoever made that decision was saying “Look it’s a freeze frame. And we’re playing “Freeze Frame”! See, that’s funnnnnnnyyyy!!!”

However, as a Top Gear fan, I’m always happy to hear The Allman Brothers’ “Jessica”

I’m trying to remember exactly how one of Randy’s lines went:
“Remember when Hepatitis Bob had sex with your mattress, and I got you a new one so you wouldn’t get whatever disease Hepatitis Bob has?”
Something like that.

“I like to cuddle. Do you like to cuddle?”

“You’re in!”

I don’t think Earl is so hot this season. It’s not a show I find I’m looking forward to any longer, which is disappointing.

I watched the NBC shows this week sort of “out of order” (with non-NBC shows inbetween) and for some reason it didn’t hit me until just now that they were all doing “green” stuff.

Both 30 Rock and Earl totally made fun of the green thing, for what it’s worth. 30 Rock totally went off on it.

Was The Office “green”? I don’t remember…

This is the final season, in case you didn’t hear. Oh, and from what I learned, in the series finale, we will finally learn the Janitor’s name!!!

Oh, I knew this was the final season.

I thought there was a throwaway line in this episode with regards to Janitor’s name…Kelso said something, then “Rudy,” or something while he was conversing with the Janitor regarding his wish to be Environmental Officer. It was very quick, but I lost track of the next few seconds of the show because I was thinking “Rudy? Who’s Rudy?”

Or did I just imagine it?

He said groovy.
Kelso called him a hippie when he (the Janitor) said he wanted to be the Enviromental Officer.
Kelso said, “Go ahead, hippie” and The Janitor replied, “Groovy.”

On another board’s discussion of Scrubs, someone lamented that the “JD needs to grow up” plot has been done before. I can remember JD learning to deal with his responsibilities and adjusting to Turk getting married and everything, but not specifically growing up. Has this plot been done before?

Well, he did decide on his own to move out, leaving Turk and Carla to start their married life together, but I don’t think it was a whole big maturation thing so much as a recognition that his friend needed his space.

Am I the only one who noticed how extremely hot Eliot looked for a whole three seconds? Normally I don’t find her attractive at all, but damn was she smoking for that one shot. It was right after she was speaking with the female patient and hoping the disease is “exotic, but nothing fatal.” She walks out of the room and shoots Dr. Cox the weirdest/hottest face I’ve ever seen on her; I had to do a double take to make sure it was even Eliot. Check out this crappy screen I grabbed; it looks much better in motion.
