My OB appt update (or let my pregnancy news stop hijacking innocent threads)

For the tanookiewatchers out there and all my other board friends who have been kind enough to inquire about impending arrival, here’s our own little thread so that the hijacking of a certain Grizzly’s thread can lessen a bit

I went to the doctors today. We are 29 weeks along and our scheduled C Section date is October 28.

Things are surprisingly normal. I had preeclampsia by now with the munchkin girl so we are really happy for all the mundane normalcy.

As of today I am really happy not to have to push this kid through the play-doh fun factory of life  My OB spent some time marvelling to us and then to all the nurses in the office because he’d never seen legs so long proportionally on a baby so young. Then he was discussing how the head was a pretty good size. Oh and while most babies clock in at about 2.5 pounds at 29 weeks… the boy is almost 4 according to their measurements.

So we have a huge healthy looking bruiser growing in me  He’ll be about 10 pounds when we have him at current estimate. And they told me I was at high risk for low birthweight babies!

That’s good news! So no bed rest of yet then?

Oh awesome Tanookie!!! That is wonderful. Guess you won’t be needing newborn clothes, better start right off in 3 month size! If he’s 10 lbs those won’t even last long. I’m glad everything is going well but no wonder you are feeling very preggy! He is getting pretty big!

YAY!! 10 lbs! I’d be happy to be having a c-section, too. so will you be hanging with us for a while, or do you get to be up and around?

Blessings to you and the little one!

I get to be up and around  So I don’t have to spend Labor Day weekend wishing I was at a barbecue!!! I get to go and have fun

I thought the girl was big at 7 pounds 13 ounces (3 weeks early) The boy is going to dwarf her. (and at 27 months she’s outgrowing her 4/5s already)

No wonder he kicks so hard

I now go weekly to the OB and we will have non stress tests every week and measurements every 2 or 3 weeks.

tanookie sounds like he’ll be plenty big enough by the time the next NFL draft rolls around.

I am glad to see things are going so well. Yay tanookie! Yay tanookie bun in the oven! Smooch to munchkin girl!

Holy tanookiebruiser! I have a 6-year-old who is still wearing some 4/5 stuff! Hoo boy, you and Parallex grow 'em big up thar in the Nawth!!

Congrats on the rising bun! I’ll be watching for further developments. (And standing by if any nursing support and advice is needed! )

October 28th? Will this mean tanookette will get gypped outta her Tricks or Treats 'cause of her stupid baby brother? Nothing like getting the sibling rivalry kicked off right away.

But boring and mundania is the way to go with a pregnancy. Leave the excitement to Lifetime Movies and ER.

Well munchkin girl was supposed to arrive June 2 and ended up here May 15.

Munchkin boy is technically due Nov 9 but is scheduled to be dragged into the world on Oct 28. It could be sooner, the jury is still out but I am hoping for boring and mundane this time!

Hubby will be able to make sure munchkin girl gets plenty of Tricks and Treats! She wasn’t very impressed with halloween last year but there is a huge difference between then and now!

I will remember Ellen’s offer of nursing advice. It went horribly last time and I ended up quitting after 2 weeks. I really want to get it right this time!

We do seem to brew them big for some reason. (I wonder if Parallax being 6’ 4 has anything to do with it?) It just makes me laugh because when I got pregnant with the girl we listened to all the dire warnings about low birthweight babies and the special needs they would have.

Ooo Tanookie, every baby is different. Try nursing again. Maybe you will like it. I loved the bonding time with my babies and you sure can’t beat ALWAYS having milk the right temperature, always fresh, never out of it, never have to steralize a bottle…it’s pretty cool. there are some inconveniences with leakage and stuff but you can get around that.

Are you a stay at home Mom? That would definitely make nursing easier.

I’m going to try again Mipiace… I just hope I will still have skin left after two weeks!

Yeah I’m a stay at home mom with a work from home hubby… the kids will wonder what it is like to have parents who aren’t always nagging them not to misbehave!

Aaron was projected to be about 9 to 9-1/2 lbs. at my 29-week ultrasound, based on extremity measurements. However, he wasn’t huge at all (he weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz.), just tall and skinny. He’s still tall and skinny, but he’s growing a pot belly.

Robin

Wyatt is a Very becoming name for a solid, handsome, self-sufficient future man …

Gee, Wyatt, I don’t know … We had a thread on this a while back and I’m still kinda attached to Zachary Ryan.

But Wyatt could be somewhere in the running

I’ve been trying to think of names in case he doesn’t look like a Zachary when he’s born but nothing else is working for us.

One problem too is our last name. We need something that won’t clash with it! Silly Polish with their cz combinations.

I’m so glad to hear you’re willing to give nursing another go, Nooks! You can count on us for support. And, nursing is very possible for working moms too! I successfully pumped at work, and nursed three babies, one for two and a half years.

Welp, my nephew would be pretty happy 'bout the Ryan part, and Zac is pretty cool …
but I gave it a Lot of thought, Tanookie and sorted through a Lot of names … and I didn’t mention my one suggestion lightly … but if you’d like other options …

I think wYatt could be interesting …
or perhaps wyaTT?
Could go with Whyatt, I guess, for a more modern look …

Thank goodness you’re not having an Aardvark, turns out Those are Hard to name, but kids … no prObLem!

Just think on it, how cute it would be … you hand your find strong young boy to a friend, and from 18" away he manages work those strong belly muscles and pitch spit-up on them …

“Awwwwww, Look, he’s given you a little Wyatt Urp …”

it’s poetry, I tell you, poetry!

oh, and yeah, I’m in the pro-breast-feeding group … hell I Still like to be fed breast!

Tanookie , glad to hear you’re doing well. I was just thinking about you.

I missed that thread, but I like Zachary Ryan. It sounds nice. Me, I’m lucky. I’m Polish too, but I got the simple, common last name and not one of the c-z-y last names (though two of my grandparents have them!). Mr. Cricket’s surname is pretty simple, too (I kept mine and added his, so I’ve got two!)

Wow, only about 8 more weeks! That’s pretty exciting. It’s nice that you’ll both be home with the mini-tanookie!
<hijack>We got the results of our genetic testing/counseling about a week ago (recommended by the Dr. due to my “advanced age” of 35), and everything’s OK. I’m in my 15th week now, so I’m pretty much over the miscarriage hump. One bonus of the testing is that we know it’s a GIRL!! Her name will be Catherine and we’ll call her Katie. The troops are divided on the middle name, though. I’m partial to Sophia, Victoria or Elizaeth, and Mr. Cricket’s first choice right now is Cady (after Elizabeth Cady Stanton). Good thing we have a few months to hash it out.</hijack>

is that somehow considered inappropiate and crude to mix sexual innuendo with breast-feeding?

mcms_cricket … I think your whole family could agree on … Wyatt for that all important middle name! Think of it, lots of famous and nifty people have had that name! It’s a Really nice name! Katie Wyatt … otherwise you get, “Katie Cady give me your answer do … bicycle built for two!”

But … Katie Wyatt … ahhhhh, shear poetry! Plus, then she’d have something so sweet in common with Tanookie’s new little boy, Wyatt!
my work is done here!
