My one and only came from you too Idle Thoughts! And you’d better believe I wear it with mega-pride! Almost as proudly as the month’s suspension I received from Lynn many years ago for posting a Happy New Year* thread in the Pit.
I only posted it in the Pit because it contained lots of swearing.
Here you go. I wrote a quick userscript to hide infractions from your userpage and control panel. Since you get a PM for new infractions, I don’t think this will be a problem.
Also, since my old host has not updated their security certificate, I’ve also put my Old SDMB Smileys script on the same host.
How to install userscripts: download the appropriate program from this list (Firefox, Chrome, and Opera only. No IE, sorry.)
Ah - Hidden in that line of code is the secret person responsible for warnings on this board??? I say we get the tar and feathers and take care of this right now.
I have 3 listed, 2 of them state ‘reversed’. The other one I just consider unfair treatment by a mod, one where a warning would have been more then sufficient and all that was warranted. Though there was one way back which I proudly accepted, perhaps in AOL days, or the SD black hole, that disappeared over the years, maybe it expired IDK so maybe it is now balanced again.
I think I have four over the last 3-4 years of activity. At least one I am happy with, as it wasn’t a suspension. At least one I am deeply unhappy with, because I think the mod was being a peevish grump.
As far as visiting your CP (which I find to be kind of a tedious drill-drill-drill operation), you can bookmark your “own posts” and “own threads” links for convenience.
I didn’t read the line carefully and you scared the bejesus out of me! I thought maybe the website had altered my code. I do have lines that look sorta like that, starting with “if (infractions !== null)”.
If anyone cares for reals, literally all it does is look for any Infractions tab or table. If it finds any, it tells its “parent” to remove it from the page.
Its “parent” being the element that contains the original element, in this case the tab or table. And, no, I don’t know why you have to ask the “parent” to remove things, instead of just removing the element directly.
All warnings are 0. They don’t use the points system. Other boards do, where you get enough points and you’re automatically suspended or banned. Here, they decide on a case by case basis.
Huh. I got nothing. I was sure I’d been Warned at some point for posting Pit material in the wrong forum… um, I mean, I’ve never misbehaved ever, officer, and I’d like to buy two tickets to the Moderator’s Ball.
