That would be so great, fingers crossed that it happens!
In another thread, you mentioned that you think that being gifted a housekeeper visit would be nice. I don’t know how much a good house cleaning service costs in your town, but I would be more than happy to kick in some money to help make that happen.
What do you say, guys? Anyone else got a few bucks to kick in? As a relative noob, I don’t think I should be the one actually collecting the money, but I would happily paypal funds to someone else for the cause.
Well, thanks for the offer! Honestly, I don’t know what it costs there either, but I DO know we are having a heckuva spike of COVID up there right now… and one of our state representatives from town just died from it. So probably not the best thing under the circumstances!
Who knew refusing to wear masks could possibly prove to be a mistake, town-wide?
I totally understand, but I have been thinking about you and your daughter (and her amazing boyfriend and boyfriend’s father) and when I saw your post in the IMHO thread so thought I would offer.
I am still wishing all the best for you and kids. I also hope that once you get home, you will be able to sleep a whole night without waking up to worry about “new” noises.
Current updates: 52 hours with no fever. Doctor says the drain is looking nearly ready to be removed, at which point we are on the home stretch. Theoretically, usually that signals discharge within a day, sometimes on the same day.
What great news! I need to tell hubs to stop cutting onions for a minute, brb.
May I suggest that you be sure to shower and change when they come in to remove the drain. After its out, I doubt your daughter will give you time to do it before breaking her out. You are going to be the one driving while she is dozing, but waking up long enough to complain about the delay if you need to pee.
I’m glad things are heading in the right direction. I hope she continues to improve and will be well enough to get discharged.
You might ask for a copy of her medical records to take with you when you leave. Her pediatrician may want them, and if she needs to get checked out by a local team for any reason, you’ll have everything at hand.
Definitely getting discharged today! Filling prescriptions (she’ll be on blood thinners for months, as well as antibiotics for at least a month). They are pulling her abdominal drain out soon, and she has gotten an arm implant for birth control today. Sounds like we should be out of here in 3-4 hours, then a five hour drive home. Very excited.
