I’m in the middle of gender flipping the main character. MC was Dale, now Delia. The spouse, who unfortunately must die to get the story going, was Nadine, now Nathan. Nadine’s brother, Leonard, was one of Dale’s closest friends, and quite a ladies man (in the best ways). I’m trying to figure if it’s awkward or fine for Leonard to be Delia’s good friend as is. In any case, Delia will have at least one bi friend, but that’s a bit down the way. (She also works with a lot of men on an equal level, and one or more of them could be gay.)
I thought about making Delia gay, but thought that might be a bad idea considering I’m not and I don’t want to unintentionally write something that’s unrealistic at best and full of wtfery and headsmacking at worse. (The fact that there is a son involved was not a factor though).
Yeah, I rather liked the Ridgid brand tool boxes last time I looked at them at Home Despot, but I have a 6-foot tall stack of cheapo Sears tool boxes already, so I’m not eligible.
(Anybody who doesn’t know what that means has never been married.)
Another random question: last week, somebody, I think it might have been Gotti, posted a picture of some rather impressive cutlery. I’d like to know who made it and where it might be obtained.
I remember nothing else from that week or this, so Rosie’s sig to all, and to all a good night.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 77 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 97 and a heat advisory. It must be August! Anywho, it sounds like good pool type weather. KERSPLASH
MOOOOOOM it looks like all the forces of the universe have conspired against y’all re the toolbox. The forces of the universe do the weirdest things sometimes! I’m with Taters on the Home Despot (AKA Homo Depot) idea. Mayhaps they’d be willin’ to sell. Sears advertisin’ sump’n and in effect sayin’ “we’ll sell to anybody but YOU” is just bizarre. Plus apparently the toolboxes at Lowe’s are magical and just appear at will.
Yay for vacation Taters! Enjoy!
Ok, off to seek more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy.
Good morning all! Well, it is still morning here in ABQ.
I’ve been a bit quiet recently - it’s not that I haven’t been reading posts, etc., just haven’t felt talkative, so to speak. I’ve always been more of a “lurker” than a poster, I guess. At any rate, we’ve been out and about this past week. Our most recent expedition was to the motor vehicle division–I needed a new non-driver’s ID because my Maryland one expires on 8/11. It wasn’t too bad - we were out of there by 10 AM! Today, we’re headed out to the nearest Jo-Ann’s (it’s a craft and fabrics store, for those who don’t know :)) today - I need some more yarns and I -might- try my hand with another craft.
Next week, I’m going to take a look at one of the indoor pools that is close to me - somewhere I can go when the weather gets cooler to get my water walking exercise. I’m also going to see how to get to one of the community centers near me - they have a lot of classes and I’m hoping to find either a ceramics class or (hopefully) a pottery making class that I can take. And hoping it won’t be too expensive! LOL I know–the materials are costly, but we’ll see what happens.

If so, those are from Starfire Swords. They’re made in the US and are a well-respected brand of theatrical weapons that are built to be used, not just displayed. Fortunately, the blades are better than the website.
Hey, tarra - is there really a high percentage of federally protected witnesses in ABQ? Because if In Plain Sight is to be believed, they all end up there.
Hi, all! Taking a break from sheet-rockin’!! We’ve got all the big pieces up and we’re taking a break before fitting in the little patches. We’ve been at it since 8-ish this morning, with a lunch break at Bert’s, so we’re pretty well pooped. I’m almost hoping **FCD **wants to call it quits. Stoopit Taz woke me up at 3, and I never got fully back to sleep after that.
Forgot to mention - we finally got our passport photos done yesterday - and fine mug shots they are! So the applications should be submitted this week. We should have them well before our January departure.
We did stop at Home Depot, but **FCD **didn’t like the tool boxes they had. He’s thinking about building his own. I’m staying out of it…
I need to call the guy who did my retirement calculations - I think he made a mistake, but I need to talk to him and find out for sure. I did get the big package with all the assorted paperwork, including, finally, the calculation of my monthly income. Definitely a big bite our of our budget, but the incentive money and leave sellback wiped out 2 big bills, so theoretically, we won’t notice the difference. Theoretically.
Sheetrockin’ is done - I bet I’s tahreder than BBBobbio! Plus I kicked the bottom frame of the shower door when I was getting in the shower and tore my big toe open - what a bloody mess! Luckily, **FCD **was within yelling distance, so he was standing by with a bandage and stuff to keep me from bleeding all over the place. Now my toe is throbbing. Stoopit shower door frame.
Daughter called - she’s in Orlando, and tomorrow, she’ll go to Ocala and hang with her grandparents for the day. Her vacation is winding down.
After I finish reading my usual online stuff, I’m assuming the knitting position for the night. And the stoopit cats will be locked out tonight so I can sleep.
Heh, rosie; I’ve been thinking the same thing about ABQ. Also, I voted.
FCM, your retirement is making me tired.
Yes, how was Cinderella?
Alternated between doing stuff and vegging all day. Went to the farmer’s market, but was too late to get eggs. Got corn, zucchini, cucumbers, peaches and leeks, though. Also went to Whole Foods (they carry reasonably local eggs) and have been supervising brother’s weeding in the garden. (Yay! I totally didn’t feel like weeding, but he did. Things look much better, I have to say.)
Also napped.
There was more, but I’m still kinda foggy from the last nap.
