Rosie and GT, I’d been wondering the same thing! LOL I think it’s just for the show that they make people think that. As far as I know (LOL!) I haven’t run into anyone in the Witness Protection Program. Those are actual ABQ locations on the show, though - it’s actually filmed here.
We made out pretty good at the Jo-Ann’s - my daughter and I both got the yarn we were looking for. We then had lunch at the Village Inn - it’s kinda like a Shoney’s and they have pies. LOL I -still- haven’t had an official green chile cheeseburger yet! Nor a fritos pie, but I’m sure I’ll have them some time.
Longest Saturday ever. Mom used Dad being pretty much done tiling the kitchen to clean. Dad got up at like seven to work on grouting and shit. I went to taijitsu at ten, which was fun. Then came home and helped do laundry and dust or wash every possible surface. And we still have one room to do. And the kitchen. And I made dinner. I can’t believe it’s still Saturday.

Up at a semi-reasonable hour. Scruffy slept till 6:30-ish - she’s learning! And I needed the sleep. Apart from being exhausted, I had a night full of stupid dreams that kept waking me up. But I’m mostly rested, so there’s that. My sweetie is still crashed out.
It occurred to me that since I’m not driving to work every day, I should get a break from my insurance. Sure enough, it went down about $140/6 months. And if **FCD **and I do the online defensive driving course, we’ll save another $70/6 months. So we’ll be taking care of that right away.
My toe still hurts, but it didn’t bleed thru the bandage, so that’s a good sign. I just have to be careful not to stub it today. Wish I still had my steel-toed shoes.
Today is mud-day. Shouldn’t be too terrible. The bad part is sanding after mudding, but as long as I keep **FCD **away from that, it won’t be too bad. He tends to sand almost everything off in an attempt to make it smooth, then we have to add mud. This is a case of a smart guy having a major brain fart. I foresee issues… I may distract him and avoid arguments by getting him to help me move stuff in my studio. We have a heavy table that needs to come out and I can’t do it myself. But once that table is gone, I can get the rest moved so I can paint. So I think that’s the plan for tomorrow.

So today we head up to large and in charge Parrot to do bday celebratin’. We’re gonna ride up with JDD and Partner. We have large amounts of food to transport. There’s ribs, N.O.T. sallit, baked beans, coleslaw and anniversary cake. JDD has a biiiiiiiiig SUV which will hold all of us and the food. His folks just lurve OYKW and me so they’re excited we’re comin’. Ain’t that sweet!
MOOOOOOM muddin’ and chillin’ just sounds like a fun way to spend a Sunday.

Ok, I need more caffiene and brekkie. Then we both must purtify for a day of anniversary celebration. Yes, we are bein’ heathens today.
Modified plans - we’re not doing much of anything today. While we were coming back from breakfast, **FCD **said he was really tired, so I suggested we take a chill day. That’s what we’re doing. We’ll change the water in the aquarium later. Maybe we’ll tidy some of the mess downstairs, maybe not. But we’re not on any deadline, so we can chill at will, and chill we will!
Plus someone is coming this afternoon to see a desk I have advertised for sale so yay for that! Now if only someone would buy the bedroom set…
Moooom, I usta have the same problem FCD has about not knowing when to quit sanding, until i started using those sanding thingees that look like a piece of metal screen door screening mounted on a trowel handle. They make it easier to know when to stop. Iffen I’m telling you something you already know, just ignore me. Everybody else does. Sometimes I’m Cliff Claven. And sometimes I’m a pair of brown shoes in a world full of tuxedoes.

The dog did not get me up at all last night or this morning, unfortunately my bladder did. I so love getting old.
I prolly should start thinking about brekkies. I’m not hungry, but I hafta eat something so I can take a bunch of pills. Otherwise my stomach attacks me.

I have had a day of slothfulness during which I have managed to achieve very little. I did, however, do my ironing and ventured outside to transplant a couple of pepper plants as they’re getting dwarfed by my ever-expanding nutterbut squash. Aside from doing that and putting lunch together, I have spent most of the day on the sofa catching up with “Sirens” and “Camelot” because I have the house to myself.
Now I’ve made it upstairs and have run myself a bath so I’m going for a nice little soak. After that I’ll have to feed the cats, put the towels in the laundry, chop veggies to go with the shepherd’s pie I made yesterday, and at some point in the evening I will also need to re-paint my toenails.
Bumba, we use those sanding screens. I think the issue is he wants absolute perfection before it’s done. I think a series of thin layers and light sanding is better than glopping it on and sanding half of it off. So I’ll do my best to get all the mudding and sanding done while he’s at work, which is why I’m glad he’s decided to be a slug today. We’ll mud tomorrow, and I can sand on Tuesday when he’s at work.
My sweetie decided to move from the couch to the bed, so I’m going to grab my knitting and the remote control and find me a movie on netflix. Laterz!!
Been away from the MMP for a coupla days. Crazy things happening at work, like the person who wanted this weekend off for a wedding and then just calling in when he couldn’t get it. What a personal inconvenience to me! Still got to have some buffalo “wings” and macaroni and “cheese” last night for dinner, along with some beerverages.

Did some gardening in the morning, then started to chop things up for chicken salad. Of course, I don’t have all the ingredients, so I’m going out in a bit to procure some. Always big fun. Also, I’m making chicken broth.
So much for doing nothing. After **FCD **woke from a 3-hour nap, he got all ambitious, so I donned my grubbies and we put up the corner bead, patched 3 spots in the ceiling, and I hauled all the extra lumber out of the basement and into the bed of the truck. Tomorrow, we’ll start taping and mudding.
In about an hour, a woman will be here to look at a small roll top desk we’re trying to sell. Hope she takes it - I need it and a bedroom set out of the house. The sooner the better…
Meanwhile, it’s time to feed the critters. Always something…

I finally got caught up on my sleep and feel well-rested enough to enjoy the remaining few hours of the weekend. Looks like a cheeseburger on the Foreman for me tonight and fining a freebee flick on YouTube.
I don’t expect to hear back from the woman who looked at the desk. But I think I may have sold the headboard/frame from the bedroom set. What the heck - we can use the dresser and night stands, even if they are a bit big.
Finished making the chicken salad. Seems very promising. it’s curried, so I won’t really eat it till tomorrow. But yum. It’s a variation of this Fruity Curry Chicken Salad. Recipe coming to the blog momentarily.
Am watching a mindless movie before doing some laundry and then going for a walk. (It’s supposed to stop raining by 8.)
taxi: turns out I’d already added Libyan Salad to the blog. And I’ve now added the chicken salad. Which I wasn’t able to wait till tomorrow for. I added just a little bit of mint to the recipe and it makes it really yummy. Would like more, but that would be overdoing it, I think.
Howdy Y’all! Had a nice day in large and in charge Parrot. Heh. Bumba a buncha parrots would do a better job than our current Governor and General Assembly. JDD’s parents are 87. His dad has had a broken hip and some broken/bruised ribs and is currently usin’ a wheelchair. His mom has macular degeneration. I did some stealth dustin’ in the livin’ room and bedrooms with JDD’s blessin’. He vacuumed the whole house and we snuck in the pantry to check out opened bags of chips and crackers. ICK!!! Found several stale bags and boxes of stuff. OYKW and JDD Partner kept the ‘rents entertained alond with JDD’s sister and brother while we snooped. He also got rid of some expired stuff in the fridge. They will need to figure out sump’n sooner rather than later. It’s becomin’ obvious they shouldn’t be livin’ there by themselves. Sad. N.O.L. was teh nummy though. The ribs were fall off the bone tender. I done good!
I’ve also cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen here at da cave. Go Me!
Plus, I just have to say this again. Tiramisu ice cream is teh num!
We handed out 100 ice cold oranges, and 100 bottles of water. Along with hygiene kits and skeeter spray. It was fun!

I know it’s hotter’n Hades outside, but I made a pot of chili before I left for downtown. I just had a bowl. It was yum! Plus I made two loaves of banana bread, since I had two nanners that were getting very brown. One for here, and one for irk.
I also assembled a gift bag for my engineer. He always borrows my fingernail clippers. (Some people might think that’s groos, but it doesn’t bother me.) Anyway, I always tell him I’m gonna get him a pair for his birthday. Yesterday was his birthday, so I bought a little clipper kit with fingernail brush, emery board, fingernail and toenail clippers and such. I think he’ll laugh! I bet he takes it home and still has to borrow my clippers.
Tahred. At least I only have to go to irk three days this week. Yay!
