My sister died almost 40 years ago; the pain and grieving definitely get better, but there’s still a sister-sized hole in my life.
I agree - I recall people here saying that after they lost a spouse, people were great right away, then everyone just sort of disappeared. Maybe you can be the guy who doesn’t just disappear after a couple of weeks.
