My sister has died

Unexpectedly and I can’t process it. There are these moments of weird normalcy, building a stupid ikea dresser and then just incoherent pain. She helped me learn to ride a bike and beat up an older neighbor who bullied me. She’s just gone.

I’m so sorry. Sounds like she was special person. Take time to grieve and process.:frowning:

Wow - very sorry.

I’m so sorry. My condolences to you and your family.

Oh I’m so sorry.

So sorry, man

I’m truly sorry for your lose - my condolences to you and your family.

:frowning: Words are so useless. HUGS

I’m so sorry as well.

I’m in a similar spot; my little big sister was diagnosed with liver cancer last June. It had spread by the time they caught it. I visited her in July and September, and she was still vital, hiking around with my wife and I in Garden of the Gods and other places around Colorado Springs.

About two weeks ago, we got word that she had been declined for further clinical trials, and that she was going on home hospice care. Six weeks to six months expected. My wife and I made plans to fly out again from Australia, picking a date a month from when we heard the news, February 12th.

Late Tuesday night, just a few days ago, I got a call from my Dad. Sherry had died.

So now, we’re going to her memorial.

Anyway, there’s no right way to feel, I think. Processing takes time, and at first is mostly painful. You’ll start remembering the good, more and more, and keeping the good alive in your mind, in your heart. And that way, she’ll always be with you.
In the meantime, take care of yourself, and taking care of others in your family is not only the right thing, but a good way to…distract yourself is not the right phrase, but I can’t think of a better one.
Also, in the meantime, life continues. Both the mundane, and the beautiful. Pay attention to that as well.

I am so sorry.

Very sorry for your loss; best wishes to you and your family.

Sorry to hear that buddy.

What a horrible shock, I’m so sorry.

My sincere condolences on your loss.

My condolences to all who loved her.

I’m so sorry. :frowning:
