My Very First MMP

Mornin’ all. It’s a gray cloudy day here in the high country. I’m going to finish this cup of caffienation and then start cutting some more bags. I took my pretty yellow recycled bag bag to the Meetup last Thursday and people seemed to like it.

Oh, and my mp3 player was saved. All hail uncooked rice!

swampy, that’s a very early 1960s Christmas tree. Now I see why Charlie Brown was so insistent on a real twig.

Cool!

Well.

So far my paper is 11 pages long. Now my next task says “synthesize your findings.” Uh, that’s quite a bit of stuff to put together. I am temporarily stalled while my brain tries to find a way around this.

In the meantime, RT is temporarily stalled as his @#$%!! truck is broken again for like the 3rd or 4th time in the last 6 weeks. Enough is enough! Poor thing. :frowning:

I guess I’d better attempt my best synthesizing effort.

Here, use this.

Moog!

Up, caffinating and blurfy

Made it through the run of shows and am going to enjoy the two days off

Need food

My to do list is a mile long(1.6km even):slight_smile:

Jim

Does he or a company own the truck?

Nephew’s band came in 6th, which is two places up from last year. I think they should have been 5th, but apparently I use different criteria than the judges. Once you get up that high, it’s very difficult to say who’s best. It was a fun competition, though, and cool to see what schools can do with the right investment of time and talent.

We are now back in Ohio, waiting for the buses to get here…

Break time! I’ve just finished 8 Amish towels - 6 with reindeer, 2 with horses. They need to cure for 3 days, then I iron them and deliver them to the store - probably on Thursday. Up next - crab wreaths! I’m also going to do big red crabs holding holly leaves. I may also do a couple of crabs in blue surrounded by silver snowflakes.

This artistical stuff is tiring! Woe is me!!

Pics will be posted later when I’m done and when my camera batteries recharge.

Howdy Y’all! Home from a very loooooooooooong deheathenization. Needless to say, with the Bishop here, we had a big, for us, crowd. In addition to the usual Whiskypalian style deheathenization we had the groundbreaking for “Church Proper” which went on for about half an hour. Scriptures, prayers, marking the ground with The Sign of The Cross and marking the bounds are a part of all this. Then a pic of all us “old timers” from the old church house we moved from to be where we are now was taken. Sidebar on that: I was standin’ next to someone I served on The Vestry with durin’ that time. Remember, we are not congregational, so we elect members to The Vestry to carry forth the bidness of the church. It was 2001 and The Vestry had voted to sell the old Rectory (we had been rentin’ it out as no Priest had actually lived there for a while as recent Priests had preferred to find their own digs, which is jake), and use the proceeds from the sale to buy the land where we are now. We heard all kinds of stuff rangin’ from what a wonderful idea this was to, “How dare y’all! This is goin’ to kill our church! Nobody will want to go waaaaaaaay out there!” End of Sidebar. Both of us were standin’ there, arms around each others shoulders, smilin’ and just wowed with what was happenin’ today. I asked Jimmy if he had the urge to go look up some of those folks who gave us grief just to say, “NEENER! NEENER! NEENER!” We also had mimosas (GASP! SHOCK! Whiskypalians drank champagne on church grounds!) to toast the occasion. 'Twas fantastic, but I’s tahrd! In addition, my fellow ush and I dd all the usual ush duties.

MOOOOOOM I’m sorta diggin’ the idea of the blue crabs.

I’ll have a blue, blue, Crabmas without you!

Good for nephew’s band gt!

Hope you’ve figured out how to synthesize StickyBuns Also, hope RT is not broken down too long, poor thing!

I do believe a nappy poo is in order.

Laterz!

y’all know the Science channel is running Firefly all day, right?

You, my dear, are a genius!! I’m going to have those towels say Merry Crabmas!!!

Oof, I did that once. Everything turne d out fine.

I washed the clothes again, this time with soap at the beginning. They seem to have turned out okay after all.

I should make some cookie dough today.

Got all the vacuuming done with much grumbling from Sah-son.
Now I have the window open to air out the stink from all the carpet fresh from the vacuum. I’m thinking about buying my own vacuum, I’ll need one when I move anyway. Unless i happen to get rich enough to buy a house with a central vacuum. I can dream can’t I?

I need to put some clean sheets on the bed and I’m good to go.
Tomorrow we are going for RAT traps, bigger, better, stronger.

I should get to irk, but I think first some lunch if some kind.

Trying to get booted up to go deheathenate. I get to teach a class today, too. That case of the whirlies plus having slept poorly is going to make that quite entertaining.

swampbear, when I visited you IRL way back when I didn’t realize you all were planning on doing it bigger and better! Congratulations!!!

Oh, and on “killing the church”, how many Episcoplaians does it take to change a light bulb?

Change? Why change? My grandmother gave the church that light bulb!

Break time again!! Hereare my Merry Crabmas towels, and here’s one of the buggy towels.

One of the red crabs is really blurry - I used some of FCD’s airbrush fabric paint, but it’s way too runny. Wish I’d tested it first. I’ll try to fix it by outlining the crab in black to cover the blurry mess. We shall see…

The crabs still need a sprig of holly in each claw. It may have to wait till tomorrow - I’s tahred!!!

Mooom, your crabs sound really cute.

Hmm… I wonder if going to NYC at the beginning of January would be a good idea. (random thought.)

Cookie dough has been made and fridgerated. I’ll cut out cookies tonight.

I like the towels, too.
I just had a very heartwarming vid-chat session with my Bro, his GF, both newphews, their wives and the Rosebuds. The vid was jumping and pixely but I got to see all of them and we talked for about 20 minutes. I feel good now.

DeathMistress we had a vision of a “church proper” one day. Honestly, I always thought it’d be ten to twelve years down the road after the present buildin’ was built. Now, here we are seven years later, movin’ on ahead. The idea is that “church proper” will look sorta like an Irish country church.

How many Episcopalians does it take to change a light bulb?

Twelve. One to do the actual work and eleven to serve on the committee.

Four. One to call the Sexton. One to make the gin and tonics. Two to stand around and talk about how much better they liked the old light bulb.

Yay for gettin’ to visit with family Rosie!

MOOOOOOM I’m diggin’ on the towels. I know I’ve been makin’ jokes on fb about the Amish one, but really, I think it’s great in just the black. It looks like a silhouette, which I think is uber jake.
