Here’s a new thought: How do you know the poisoner is even TOWN? To me “poisoner” sounds like a very negative, shady sort of role. Maybe it’s a scum or third party role.

i believe the poisoner is town because Mahaloth was poisoned and he was scum. would be risky play for scum to use unknown powers on fellow scum.

Fair enough. I disagree with you but that’s what makes the world go around. Do you find people who are not voting to lynch a claimed mason or message reciever *more *suspicious the way that Stickler does?

I formerly believed my message, as Idle quoted me while catching up (see next quote). I no longer believe it.

At the time I posted that, I had not yet seen the analysis of the messages. I have reevaluated and changed my position based on that analysis, especially the fact that two people received conflicting messages on gnarly.

At present, I agree that IF we have all four types of cops, two of them targeted gnarly and got different results. What just occurred to me is, one of the cops might have had two targets last Night. So Tomorrow I think it’s worth sharing information in this order: Who suddenly gets two targets for the next Night, who targeted me on N1, and who targeted on N2 the person claiming two targets for N3?

Did that make sense? Or am I channeling peeker? (that’s a joke son)

AOP @ pwnsall: That’s my inference. I had one target last Night; I have two targets Tonight (assuming I survive the Day).

im trying to do analysis but I do not have much time, and I disagree about jumping on bandwagons, tho it seems to be the consensus here that it’s bad

That’s not totally true. Read the conversation from Night 1 if you haven’t. We talked about it a bit. It’s more nuanced than that. Also, there aren’t a ton of consensus opinions you will get from our group. Just more popular and less popular ideas.

I wanted to wait for gnarlycharlie to wake up, and I have to be away for a couple of hours, but I think I need to explain now.

gnarlycharlie and I are masons. He targeted me last night. We are both villagers, per our role reveal from the mod to both of us. I know that someone targeted gnarly last night and it was not an investigative role. I’m sure gnarly will be along in a few hours to confirm this, and I will be back soon.

From the OP, I didn’t expect that this game would have masons since it’s not a role that comes attached to a night power.

I got called in to work today, and don’t have time to read the thread, so I have no idea what’s going on. From the last few posts, it looks like gnarlycharlie and Texcat have claimed mason, and Silver Jan is calling gnarly scum.

I got a message in the night that Texcat was a mason, and town. I don’t know why I got it, because I didn’t target her. I know a couple more things about how it works, but I will save that for once I have read the thread to see if it useful to reveal.

So I guess Texcat and gnarlycharlie probably are masons. I really don’t think wolves would go to this length to pretend to be masons, it seems way too risky and two wolves are implicated if they get caught. I guess it’s possible but I’m going to discount that possibility for now.

I also doubt SilverJan would make that up as a wolf to try and get gnarlycharlie lynched because it also has a bad risk/reward ratio. It seems more likely it’s just a wrong reveal. Then again, Silver probably didn’t expect all this mason defense to come up and clear gnarly.

This is probably what’s going on.

I don’t think I like a giraffe wagon but that seems to have subsided. I know I’m probably way behind the curve, but I’ll do my best to figure out who the best lynch today is.

Wait, guys, why the sudden switch? There’s no reason to believe Silver Jan over, inevitably, GnarlyCharlie’s “she’s lying” response. If she’s telling the truth, and we lynch him first, great. If she’s lying and he turns up town, then we just lynch her Tomorrow. Her claim doesn’t tell us anything by itself and cannot be verified without lynching someone else.

That said, since we now know that one of them is definitely a wolf, I think it’s probably in our best interest to lynch one of them Today, and we can always lynch Scuba_Ben later; however, I don’t think it should necessarily follow that it should be GnarlyCharlie and not Silver Jan, and I’m inclined toward the latter. So…

That’s a good point, but I was thinking about how many redirects there seem to have been (so far) in this game (with messages and all, at least).

Not really, no…I’m not NOT suspicious of Inner, if that’s what you mean. But right now there’s better targets, I think, like the one I’m voting for now.
Inner wouldn’t come for awhile on my list of “People I’d be willing to vote for”..does that explain it better?

Here’s my summary of all the messages. Please check me for accuracy.

5 people received messages about other players’ alignments. One reported a Wolf, three reported Townies, and one reported a Town Mason. My assessment: Weedy’s message was from a full Cop/Seer, as it included the role, and is therefore accurate.

5 people were the subjects of these messages. As TexCat was the subject of the role & alignment message, I consider her pretty much confirmed.

TexCat in turn did NOT get a message but got a mason reveal. I conclude that gnarlycharlie the other claimed mason is also pretty much confirmed Town.

Therefore Jan received an inaccurate message about gnarly.

Hence, one of the three messages saying “Villager” is probably false, assuming it comes from an insane cop. The subjects are Dancecat, Silver Jan, and Blaster Master. So probably exactly one of these is a Wolf. Which one it is we need to determine by good old analytical effort.

Further, the simplest assumption (to me) is that all five people reporting messages are accurately reporting the contents of their message. This does not indicate alignment.

AOP @ peeker: Withdrawing a defensive vote is weak? I would say you lost me, but I was never following you in the first place.

I see that now so I misread your post. My mistake.

It does make me wonder what happened to your Night action (as well as those of the other message recipients, assuming they didn’t get a response either).
