Well, I don’t know if you’ve stated what you think your power is (or if you have any idea - don’t out it if you haven’t) but I think “no result” means your power didn’t work, and if you were roleblocked I think you would have also gotten a message. It’s likely your power worked but it’s something that won’t give you a result (for instance if you were a seer you would have gotten a result). IE you theoretically could be a doctor, roleblocker, redirector, randomizer, propagandist, town crier, lightning rod, etc. You not getting a result only means you can probably eliminate your chances of being a very small subset of roles, but with so many roles that affect other actions out there, even eliminating any possibilities is still hard to do.

I think I can help you in what your role might be, then.

Again, my type of play is to give any info I can, as I know it, so sorry if anyone thinks this might be a bad move–but I think it might be relevant to the fact if you’re one who thinks Silver Jan might be scum, too.

My message toDay said that I was blocked from performing my Night action. So unless someone else targeted me or my action was blocked away by some other means, somehow,** I think that gives strong signs that Jan might be some kind of roleblocker.**

Idle I like your willingness to divulge information but you need to be careful about it. For example Jan could be a wolf with no idea how her(?) night action works so she’s fishing for information in the thread.

Jan, you can use your powers on people you think are wolfy. Anyone who suspects they are a doctor should probably target jan tonight so the wolves can’t get her.

Guiri is a village vig. Guiri is killed night one. Two villagers died n1, guiri and silman. Silman had 4 posts all day and isn’t from this board, he is very unlikely to have been the wolves night kill target on night 1, which makes it more likely that guiri was the night kill target.

When guiri is killed, and if his gun is “pickupable” after he dies, the only mechanic that makes sense to me is that the person(s) who killed him would get the gun.

Or it means that there is a ‘backup Vig’ who took over the role when **Guiri **died.

I’ve never even heard of a backup vig in any mishmash I’ve ever played, and there was no such role in the original mystery mash. That’s certainly a stretch.

Wolves received a similar PM, which also gave them details about their 24-hour chat privileges. Wolves get a team nightkill every night. In addition, each wolf player has their own night action, for which they must submit a target nightly. The wolves do not know anything more about their roles than the villagers do. Each team starts equally in the dark about what their night actions do.

That’s very interesting, Idle. I don’t recall anybody saying Yesterday that they had been blocked; do you recall otherwise? Not to go after you, but to attempt to infer whether Jan is indeed a roleblocker.

And is a roleblocker necessarily Scum? It seems to me that the two dead Wolves had roles that need not always be Scum roles.

Double-checked my PM. It is phrased in the singular. Which is consistent with what I had Yesterday Dawn, which was worded essentially that I had one action with two targets.

@Drain Bead: Yesterday people reported being “protected.” Today ed reports feeling “healthy.” My guess is that ed got the antivenom. Accordingly, whoever targeted ed could save brewha. Maybe.

The quotes I have are “I feel strangely safe this morning. I don’t know why” (NAF1138, Post 1108) and “I also enjoyed some kindness last Night” (septimus, Post 1179). septimus later reiterated “I’ll mention again that I felt protected last Night” (Post 1771). It might be worthwhile for each of them to check their PMs to see what the verbiage actually was.

I thought special ed claimed to feel good or stronger or something along those lines.. I thought he was angeled (doctored). Using anti-venom on a player who isn’t poisoned probably doesn’t give a message to the target.

I did think of that, but I always think that revealed information is always better for Town in the long run. Now that everyone knows there’s a high chance she’s a roleblocker, any descrepancies down the line would be found out about pretty quickly. As more and more info is revealed, too, hopefully we can work together to find out/decide how to best utilize them as the game goes on.

And whether or not a role is common over here, or unheard of over there, or occasionally used somewhere else is really of no consequence. You can’t dismiss the existence of a role simply because you haven’t seen it before.

Nah, it can be a Town role too. I think it originated as a Town role, actually, although there are some opinions (mine one of them–but I’ll digress here about it) that roleblockers are bad/more anti-Town simply because they have a good chance to block Town powers. : p

CQ, did you read your giant obnoxious text? “Elsewhere, someone found” means something completely different than “someone killed Guiri and took her gun”.

I interpreted that as Guiri was killed and dropped her gun. Elsewhere, someone found her gun. Whether or not wolves killed Guiri is irrelevant - the wording sounds to me like someone killed Guiri, someonelse found her gun.
The rest of your obnoxiously sized and colored text indicates that the person who shot InnerStickler did so on accident. They saw a shady character on the corner and didn’t recognizer her as a cop until after she was shot.

To make things easier in the future would the players that share their results or lack there-of be more specific.
If you received no result (ie no return PM at Dawn)
If you received a PM with no answers
If you received a PM stating “no apparent result” (it’s mentioned in the OP)

Night Actions:

Every player must submit a target for their night action every night, including Night Zero. There was one Night Zero night action. By Night One, everyone will have a night action. Starting Night One, you will receive confirmation when we have processed your night action. Such confirmation may take the form of a PM stating “No Apparent Result.” This does not mean that your night action failed. It only means that, to the extent there was some result of your night action, that result is not apparent to you.

I know we can’t directly quote our PM’s but since the phrase is mentioned in the OP as well it can be used (I checked)

This may help us when we get to sorting it all out.

I really don’t like that texcat and gnarly were spared their lives last night. If they really are both village masons the wolves should have turbo killed them off. It doesn’t make any sense to let the peeked village masons live while instead they kill off another messaged peek (dancecat). Dancecat’s “peek” wasn’t as strong as texcats and texcat/gnarly’s masonry makes them infinitely more valuable to the village than dancecat by himself was…

Not necessarily. The Wolves might have decided they had more important things to do. In my opinion, if the Wolves had eaten TexCat or gnarlycharlie and their victim flipped Town Mason, they would have just hard-confirmed to us the other one. And then we’d have a start of a Confirmed cadre.

As for a backup Vig – De’endee Mafia has a possible backup-of-all-trades (or maybe confirmed by now, I stopped following it when this game started). And Sekham had backups for both the doc and the Oracle, IIRC. We have proven this game has many weird roles, never before seen on the Dope; a backup Vig is not impossible.

AOP @ LightFoot: My N2 result PM said effectively “No apparent result.” My N1 result PM did not address my N1 action at all.

The Night results are… unpleasant.

I had a thought this morning that there would be a truthful equivalent to Blaster Master’s role of Propagandist. It’s good to find out that I was correct – but it’s bad to find out by virtue of Dancecat getting Killed.

Were there any breadcrumbs from Inner Yesterday about eir N1 investigation?

Also, I want to suggest a plan with respect to my Night action, and I’d like feedback.

1. I report ONE of my targets.
2. That player reports any Night messages they received.
3. Other people report any Night messages they received about my target.
4. Everybody reports any similar messages they received about themselves or other people.
5. I report my other target, and see if they appear in the list from step 4, and in regards to what message. This should strongly indicate what my Night action is.

And for the record, I received no Night messages and no indication as to the result of my action.

Finally, I will be AFK from Friday 5 PM EDT through Dusk.

I think you should do whatever you think is best for the Town, and let the rest of us do the same.

Your plan here, if adopted, ‘forces’ other players to reveal information that they may not want to reveal. Until you are confirmed to be Town, I don’t think you have the right to impose your will upon anyone.
